We called Cair to come out when our A/C went out in July 2023. The technician diagnosed our problem completely wrong and quoted us a minimum of $3300 to fix or a new unit at $6100. Since our unit was only 7 years old I decided to call a second company to get a another opinion. They came out the next day and told us there was absolutely nothing wrong with our A/C unit but was actually the thermostat. He had the A/C back up and running within 2 hours for a few hundred dollars. I called Cair to request a manager phone call to at the very least tell them what happened. The service manager, Maureen Thompson, was extremely rude, not once apologizing until I called her out on it at which time she asked me if I needed her to write me a letter. I was blown away by her lack of customer service. We will not be using this company ever again and I hope that this review saves others from having the same thing done to them.Review from Gerald K

This company is awesome! They show up and get the job done. This goes for everybody we interacted with from sales to installers to office and customer service staff. They do a great job with great products. They are the best.Review from Edwin A

(Subcontractors) They’re inconsistent with not only with the pay but as far as getting the material for the job ready, have deal with a ton of back and forth with the payments and pay disgusting low for jobs that’s are worth more then what they gave and have to constantly move us project to project.Review from David T

They flat lied about their pricing. On the phone with Wendy I confirmed several times that the service call and first hour of labor would be $156 and then $75 for each hour thereafter. According to CAIR the repair took 32 minutes but I fot a labor bill for $260. The part was free because the unit is still under warranty. When I called to ask about the inflated charges, Maureen, the office manager, just said the person who quoted the price was new and didn't understand how they charge while she admitted that she heard my conversation with Wendy the day before when I called. Stay away from these folks. Maureen couldn't explain their labor rates either. I just want a straight answer. By the way, the tech replaced a capacitor. We called CAIR on June 8 for an AC tuneup because the ac has been having some issues and we thought it might help. We were originally told that they would come that Friday the 10th. They never showed up. My fiancée called CAIR on Monday the 13th to see what had happened and apparently they could not get ahold of him so we rescheduled for today June 15th. He was told they could arrive anytime between 12-4. At 330pm I called to make sure they were still coming and I was told that they would be, but that it would now be at 530pm. We called again around 5:15pm and I believe Nancy told us that yes we were still on the service list for today and that the tech was wrapping up at the house prior to us. It is now close to 7pm and we have yet to receive a call from such technician and the call center is now closed. I am really upset and highly disappointed in your company and will not be recommending you all to any friends or family.Customer Response

Unpleasant Experience When they installed the complete High Efficiency unit the breaker blew and the installer had to call for help. They did make it passed that point. The heat worked and two weeks later we tried the AC side and got 95 degree air. Called for service and a day or two later a service text needed 41/2 hour to rewire the system and add a overlooked “P trap to the drain. All of the ductwork they did was with silver duck tape. No tinsmith need for that lol. Also when the installation was first completed there was no filter installed. Watch the salesman Jeremy too. I paid for the extended warranty and told the first years cleaning and service was included and thereafter I’d pay a discount rate for the remainder. WRONG I have to pay for all services other than substantial warranty claims. I was told all the paperwork agreed to would be neatly printed out and brought with the installer. With all that transpired that day I fail to carefully read the contents of the package. When I called to schedule the first service I was told that the complimentary service didn’t exist. I will be finding another authorized Amana dealer for all my future cleanings and checkups. I hope this information helps you make a better decision than I did. We contacted Cair Heating and Cooling on Sunday, May 23/2021 because our old a/c unit was not working after having it for 19 yrs. Kevin came over the next day, Monday, 5/24/2021 and was very informative about all our options. We settled on a price which was lower than other competitors and his company was here the next morning, Tues, 5/25/2021,, Installed new unit in about 6 hrs. Ken was great! He was very professional, very informative, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. We are owners of a new construction and he took time to educate us regarding our new HVAC system without hesitation!
