I wanted some custom motor work done to my truck. After shopping around , To y Murphys seemed knowledgeable and we agreed on a
$ 5,000 to install heads , cam , intake , 4,300 stall converter and a few misc. parts that would go with the motor. I provided him everything …an entire kit that I purchased from Moe’s Performance.
After a year and no updates on anything. Wouldn’t even let me see my truck. So after a year , I called the police , and as soon as the cops got there . Tony stated : I don’t want to work on his truck anymore….
So his mechanics / helpers loaded everything into the back of my truck and told me to get it off his property. I’m missing all kinds of bolts nuts clips , brackets , ac compressor …I have cut lines in the wiring harness.

I feel he should at least pay for me to have a running truck again , because that’s what I drove there. Now it’s in pieces , and will take me forever to get things sorted out.

This customer had brought his vehicle to us randomly while
not on the schedule. We had informed ******* that we were a few months out on
starting on such a project. He had stated that the truck had been sitting for a
while and that there was no problem with the timeframe. Five months after
vehicle had been dropped off ******* brought his parts to our shop that he
wanted us to install. We had contact with ******* either by us calling him or
him stopping by every two weeks with updates on what was being done. *******
and I had a conversation about the engine being removed from the vehicle to be torn
down, inspected, and the entire process of prepping the engine for his parts to
be installed. ******* stated that he had no problem with our process. I was
later informed by my receptionist that when ******* had stopped by to get an
update on his vehicle while I was in a meeting, he had been very rude and had
used foul language toward her. I reached out to him that same day and he acted as
if everything was fine, so I had chalked it up to him having a bad day. A few
days later ******* shows up with police stating that we had stolen his vehicle
and sold it. We brought ******* and the police into the shop showing them both all
his parts and his vehicle. At this point I made a business decision based upon
his erratic behavior and comments that we needed to end all business with him. Before
Kennth came to retrieve his belongings, all parts were inventoried, photo
logged and accounted for. Kennth himself went through pulling every item out of
the vehicle, inspecting everything on and in the truck to ensure everything was
there. If there was anything he thought was missing, we directed him to where
parts were placed. After confirming all of his belongings were there *******
called 911 saying that we had threatened him even though witnesses and camera
footage showed a completely different aspect.

We paid $3000 for our son to take his ****** ****** to Murphy’s Customs. He has used this shop for 12 years and sent others there as well. They replaced a timing chain and other things. The car only ran for a few weeks before breaking down when he was taking his sons to school.A tow truck took it there and after SEVEN weeks and hardly NO contact we decided to go over and pick it up with another TOW to a local mechanic. It now needs a motor and our son is out of the $3000 we paid for a job done. It is our word against him and I can’t believe he is not standing behind his quality of work. He knows what happened! We just asked fur the money for the work. We could be asking for a motor.

Vehicle was towed in, customer states engine had been making some rattling noises for a few days then shut down, we checked vehicle out and found it was 4 quarts low on engine oil. I contacted the customer and explained that the engine was low on oil and in return had lost oil pressure that supplies the timing chain tensioner that we had installed a few months before, the best we could tell is the engine had been consuming oil for some time due to high mileage and wear on internal components and we recommended replacing engine. Customer agreed and we kept in contact as we wasn't finding a low mileage used engine that I would recommend selling and installing, customer and his dad had come by and picked vehicle up to take for a second opinion then returned a couple weeks later and asked if I could make contact with other shop for explanation, customer, his dad and I made contact by phone, other shop had determined and explained the same findings as ours, customer and dad agreed and left, a couple weeks later the dad had called and asked if I was standing behind my work I stated I always stand behind my work as I am backed by a 2 year parts and labor warranty but unfortunately the problem has nothing to do with the work that was performed a few months prior.
