      My daughter was in a mild car accident. She called me but by the time I arrived her car was already on the back of a tow truck. Her car was completely drivable. I was told to pick the car up in the next couple days and that the insurance company would appraise the car on their lot. When I went to get the car they said it would cost me 1700 to get the car. So instead of me getting the car, I had it released toy insurance company who then paid the 1700. I told the insurance company that the towing company said they would estimate the damage on the towing companies lot. The insurance company said that is entirely untrue and said they do this once the car is at an auto body shop. The 1700 is an unreasonable charge for towing a car less than 1 mile. It's a scam and price gouging to take advantage of insurance coverages which then impacts insurance premiums. The guy who told me it would cost 1700 was rude about the price when I told him it was a ridiculous charge. I did not authorize them to put the car on their tow truck. Never did they inform me of the cost while at the scene of the accident. I am asking that they immediately refund my insurance company 1700, as the charge was never expressed by the business, they did not receive my permission to place the car on the tow truck, the car was drivable and I could have drove it to my house or a body shop. This is not the only valid customer complaint against this business. And if something is not done to my satisfaction I will seek legal means to ensure this business is held accountable for their predatory practices.
