Important information

  • Additional Info:
This is not a charity, therefore the Bureau's 20 voluntary Standards for Charitable Solicitations do not apply.

According to the Attorney General's Office, the Lodge has generally hired professional fundraising companies to run two campaigns a year. The Lodge indicated that it has contracted with Swear By Me Enterprises, a professional fundraising firm, to solicit donations for its charitable endeavors. The Bureau verified that a fundraising campaign has been registered under Bluegrass Lodge #4 FOP with the Attorney General's Office to run from March 3, 2008 to June 30, 2008. Half of each donation goes to the Lodge.

Fraternal Order of Police Bluegrass Lodge 4 has advised that donors who wish their donations be specifically applied towards the Lodge's charitable endeavors should donate directly to the Lodge, with a specification that the donations be used solely for that purpose. If donations are made with the stipulation that they be used specifically for charitable endeavors, the total amount of the donation would be eligible for deductions as charitable contributions for Federal Income Tax purposes.
