      On July 14th- thru July 16th, we paid for 2 nights for the ******* *********. Upon doing some research, I discovered that Columbia Sussex owns this property. After being unsuccessful in my attempts to obtain the refund directly from this hotel, I contacted the owner, Columbia Sussex. I was the victim of an assault by my daughter, who was taken by the police. The hotel threw myself out, and my disabled 12 year old, and husband. They have refused to refund me the monies/ award certificate/ points used and have taken payment, for services not rendered. Maryanne, from claims, at Columbia Sussex said the corporation will not refund me, refuses to train staff, or take any responsibility for the actions that occurred. She also stated that ******** ********* informed her that we had booked 2 rooms, for 2 nights. This is incorrect. We only booked one room for 4 people for 2 nights. She also stated that the security guard told us to go in our room. This never happened, and I detail the even in the attachment email that was sent. Not only did they take payment for services not rendered, but they also discriminated against our family, which included 2 disabled people. The person that caused the assault, was taken off premise by police, and there was no reason we couldn't of stayed. My 12-year-old had a seizure due to the stress, and my husband's Huntington's disease has progressed due to this stressful event. Luckily, the police assisted in getting us into a shelter for one of the nights. I would like a refund for the 2 nights, a promise to train staff, and an apology for the unfortunate event.
