      The trash company we use, Scott Waste Management, accidentally threw our can in the truck last Tuesday, 6/3 (our trash pickup day is Tuesday). We have called them almost every business day since and have been told they will have a replacement can sent the next day or "we will make it a priority and have it to you ASAP". We have been without a trash can and have garbage bags piling up. We need a can and potentially money back for missed pickups. Today, 6/11, we still have no can and they didn't pick up our trash.

      Our typical delivery time on carts is 15 business days. Due to the nature of this issue, we attempted to rush the delivery on the can. Unfortunately, we had a delay in delivery for this customer which we sincerely apologize for. The cart was delivered 06/13/25.

      I am rejecting this response because: It’s too little too late. The company sent me a file containing the recycling dates for my address. I didn’t think I would need to check the website because it was sent to me directly by the company. But for whatever reason the document was incorrect and the wrong days were given to me.

      This company has everyone’s emails, phone numbers, and addresses. It’s not that hard to find a way to send out a mass email/text/flyer that states something as simple as “Hey we updated our schedule, please check online at our website to see your new pick up days”. Nothing was done, everyone had to find out the hard way, and people like me, who contact the company directly requesting the schedule, get sent the wrong dates.

      Our contract has recently changed with this county. Depending on the customers address, they could have recycling serviced the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th week of the month instead of the '3rd pick up day'. The contract went into effect 04/01/2025, but our IT department had a lag in updating our collection calendar. To date it has been corrected and customers can find their new recycling pick up day online at www.scottwaste.com. Customer did not provide his complete service address here, so I reached out via email to get his address and have the opportunity to explain these new changes.

      We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The IT department had the dates incorrect and therefore the calendar was not accurate. We did send out text reminders (if the phone number on the account is up to date) to alert our customers that the dates had been corrected. We will be happy to send someone out to get the overflow recycling collected if an address can be provided. Again, we are very sorry for the confusion and would love the opportunity to get this resolved ASAP for you.

      I am rejecting this response because: Doesn’t change the fact that 2 months in row your driver drove past my recycle bin while collecting every one else’s. As far as I’m concerned, you already had your chance to make it right a month ago, but your driver just decided to drive past my house a second time. This was after the first time I called and got the “correct” (wrong) dates. 

      And there’s no point coming out now, your drivers will be here later this week (hopefully not skipping my house again). You had your chance to come pick it up last week, but the rep told me it’s my fault for not putting my bin out when it was clearly out by the street. Then I left for work and they told me they’d come get it after telling me it’s my fault and they’re not coming out. But I had already left the house, so I couldn’t get it down to the street. 

      So like I said earlier, you guys already had your chance to make it right. At this point I’d just want a prorated price or refund of some sort, but I know that’s never going to happen. I don’t even care that it would only be like 3 dollars and some change. It’s all just ridiculously silly at this point. Especially the pettiness of the driver to collect EVERYONES recycle bin except mine. 

      So I guess thanks for taking the time to respond to me, although I know I wouldn’t have gotten anything back from you guys had I not contacted the BBB and this chain of emails is only because of their involvement.

      This complaint is about a business I sold in December 2024. I owned a restaurant, ******* ****** *****, **** ***** *** *** ******* ***** *** and sold it on Dec 10th, 2024. I called later that month to have my dumpster canceled due to selling the building and no longer needing it. I told them the name and Phone number of the new owner. They told me someone would get back to me but never called back. I called back again after receiving another bill. They said the billl was for December and I had to pay it and get the new owner to pay me back for the days in December after the sale. So I paid the bill and then received another bill later in February for January. I called again and explained the situation giving the new owner's name and phone number. They sent me an email with a document to sign stating that my account would be canceled on February 24. I responded that by signing it, It would indicate that I would be financially responsible for charges. through Feb 24th even though I called to cancel in December, I received no response about the email. Then today I received another email bill for 2 months! The new owner wants to get it moved over to him but for some reason, nothing is getting done other than billing me for a dumpster I haven't used since December 10th.

      I had Scott waste for around 7 years and have had multiple frustrating instances with them over that time. The last straw recently occurred after we moved to the other side of the circle. We had a large box from our move and another TV box that needed disposed of. I made a request for the boxes to me removed using the website. After 2 weeks they were not removed so I called and made the request. 2 weeks later and the boxes were still there. I had to dispose of them myself. A few weeks later, we had extra trash from moving and cleaning our new house that was in our personal can by the road. The totally destroyed our personal can. I paid $140 for this can and it was primarily used outside the house for yard debris and i would transfer its contents over to the scott waste can when I was finished using it. They have thrown trash out of the can and left it in my yard, left boxes and mattresses laying in the yard for weeks after requesting they be picked up, destroyed our personal property, missed pickup, and generally do not care about their customers. After 7 years of service I had enough and changed to a different company. Now, they won't even remove their can from my yard. I canceled last week, pickup was this morning, and their can is still there. I have lived all over the country and had multiple different trash companies. Scott Waste is the worst one by far that I have ever dealt with.

      Garbage was picked up on 2/22/2025 the driver spilled bags of garbage on the street and did not puck it up , previous week container was broke in the past driver threw a garbage container in truck that belonged to me, called company very rude, used obscene language towards me.

      I have requested a trash can five times from customer service and have been assured that delivery would be made same day or with in a few days of the call. My initial request was over two weeks ago I just want my trash can delivered.

      They hadn’t been picking up my trash all of October so I called to complain and found out it was not paid but that wasn’t until the 27th it was due and was not being picked up weeks before that. They wouldn’t do anything and was canceled on November 3rd . Payment was sent on the 6th not knowing it was cancelled for 74.07 . Trash can was taken and no service was rendered at all since early October. My refund I got was for 49.85 so I called and they just kept telling me it was for weeks before refund but no service was rendered since early October!!! They offered to send me 5$ more . It was canceled after trash had already stopped being picked up and was paid after the cancellation so I don’t understand why there was not a full refund. Especially when no service was rendered for a payment.

      Customer has a negative payment history with our company and was placed on stop service due to nonpayment on 10/27. Customer called and got irate about the payment and requested cancellation of account on 11/03. Customer was prorated at the time the cancellation request was made. The prorate was for 11/04-12/31 in the amount of $49.85. Based on GPS tracking on our driver's tablet the customer was serviced 3 weeks in October. Scott Waste has applied an additional week's credit to the customers account today in the amount of $5.53 for the last week of October. After that additional credit the account pricing and prorate are correct. Customer is responsible for paying for the first 3 weeks in October.

      Scott Waste has refused to pick a trash bin from my residence for 3 weeks now, I have spoken to several different people on the phone and all of them have told me that the trash would be picked up the next day but in the future to put it in a new scott waste bin but it wasnt until yesterday they provided me with the updated bin. Now they are refusing to pick up my trash unless I remove it all from the old bin and place it in the new bin even though they have been picking up the old one for 5+ years. Today when I spoke with them they hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor. I called back of course and they were rude and told me they would not pick up the trash. Scott waste seems to keep making it more difficult for their customers.

      Scott Waste Services no longer services personal cans. *** ******* called and was educated about the contract change from September 2022. Customer ordered a 2nd Scott Waste cart and it was delivered within a week. Customer was asked to place the extra trash in the provided Scott Waste cart. *** ******* called our office cussing our representatives because she wasn't happy with that resolution. We have a driver routed to service the personal can, by hand, today 10/23. Going forward customer will only receive service if garbage is placed in a Scott Waste provided container.
