He is a scam and will steal your money! He has since then not replied to our calls for the last 10 months. He owes us $5,550. He has changed his name to Mystic Energy Services. Do not do business with this man.

I am retired and live in a log cabin in Kentucky. I paid The Solar Guy much money up front to install solar at the cabin in April 2023. He delayed until September to install it. When my electric company WRECC said he was not qualified to install it, they locked my solar power out. Now it is a day before February 2024 and Solar guy Bure claims he is now certified. Still, WRECC has none of the documents needed and I still have no solar power! Bure will not talk to me at all. I have been paying $140 a month to pay for Solar since April! I need help on this!

I am writing this review to hopefully warn potential customers before becoming involved with Mystic Energy Services. You will We made a mistake and engaged this company on the recommendation of an acquaintance. If we had done what we usually do, we would have reviewed the BBB website, saw they have a grade of "F," and are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. We then would have quickly "walked away" from this company and looked elsewhere. There's a lot I could say about this company but will try to hit the high points. I first became concerned when I met separately with the owner and project manager who quoted me different prices on a generator, and made different recommendations about the number and placement of solar panels. We decided to get a generator although learned, on installation day, it was not properly sized for our system. There was another wait of several weeks before the proper generator was delivered. It then took over six months, and repeated appts., for this generator to finally become operational and I still have some questions about it. We paid for the generator at the beginning of this process and our money was tied up during the wait. We expressed our concern about this long delay and requested compensation for this. The owner initially stated he believed compensation was warranted but wanted to talk first with their electric contractor, who he believed shared some responsibility for what happened and should share in providing compensation, We were informed Mystic Energy Services subsequently became involved in a lawsuit against this contractor and never got back to us, as they promised, about compensation. We finally gave up and accepted they are not going to do what they initially said they would do. We can't change that but maybe we can do some good if we share our experience and prevent other potential customers from experiencing a similar fate.

These guys were a pleasure to work with from all levels of the work force. I’ve recommended them to everyone thinking about installing a system. The system works perfectly and is meeting our expectations and beyond.

After going and getting 2 other quotes for solar, and doing my own research, I am glad I stayed local and went with better equipment the first time around. Didn't need to sell me hard and on the spot like the other guys tried to, I knew this was the best deal and dealing with locals over the guys at national companies. Reasonable price, and managed expectations. No problems in communications or getting ahold of them either. Glad I made the investment and will get the tax credit this year before it lowers. And a system that actually works, with plenty of panels and good inverters with a good warranty. Would recommend.

We had solar installed, by another company, Dean Bures was the salesman. Later, after those panels did not suffice..we called Dean to see what he could do to help. He had started this company after leaving the one that did our original setup. After evaluation showed these panels were not enough or high enough quality, we stepped up.. We decided to install more, but on our shop. Dean worked very hard to find what we really needed to fulfill our needs. I cannot say enough about how he and his staff treated us. Our new set-up is wonderful.. Good to know that we are helping the environment and also lowering our bills. The work they did is so good, staff friendly and helpful. They are all welcome here anytime, and they know it! Dean stays in touch just to be sure it is all ok. Our install was complicated but they worked with us on it. You just don't get this kind of business dealings anymore..no push, shove or lies! AND follow-up!! We continue to tell people and show them what we have here. Very pleased!

Six months later and still solar panels are not up and running. The company has said it was the states fault only to find out that it was their electrical company that they hired did not get the proper permits. I was told when the panels were installed and electricity to the box that everything was up and running so that I would sign the completion so that they got paid. I have been paying for six months with no resolution yet. I have been lied to by this company when just recently was told they were still waiting for payment. Only to be told by the bank and lending company that they got paid six months ago. They act like mystic energy and the solar guys are two separate entities but are owned and operated by the same people. I am hoping to get a resolution soon only after contacting numerous people myself

This is a very unfortunate situation. The state of Tennessee began new rules for solar installation in 2022, but failed to supply these new rules to electricians in the state, or some of those companies never receive them. When the install began in 2021 the system was installed per 2021 requirements. The proper 2021 permits were obtained and the system was installed. However, the rules then changed from the state, and the state reported they needed a highly advanced structural report on the building the system was placed on. Several attempts were made to contact the state for information on what exactly was needed with no response from the state by email or phone for several weeks. When finally contacted by the state they provided information that made no sense as to the reason or the method they required. The state informed us they wanted us to hang weights from the roof of the structure to test the structures integrity. This was for an electrical inspection, and the state was already provided a structural report prior to the install from a certified engineer. Weeks of no contact again by the state until we finally heard from them and we were told there request for a new structural report was not necessary as they were interpreting these new rules and just got clarification on what was needed to pass a solar electrical inspection from higher authorities. Then the state requested we begin the process of inspection all over again, using the 2022 standards, this request was made several months in 2022 after the 2021 install. Because 2022 rules were different than 2021, there was now 3 inspections required before a solar system was approved instead of 1. And at the first inspection we were informed we needed some things done to the system that were required in 2022, that were not required in 2021. Those changes are underway on 6/6/22 then the state will revisit for the final inspection. Per our contracts in Tennessee, a system is considered completed when we have completed the install, and not when a state inspects it. So when the system was completed by the company a completion certificate was sent to the customer and the customer did sign it stating the system was completed. So the banks did fund us for the system, but only because our requirements to the customer had been met per the agreement signed by all parties prior to the install. As far as 2 different companies, in reference to the customers statement that representation of the Solar Guy and ****** ****** being 2 different businesses, the Solar Guy character is a marketing tool much like Ronald McDonald is to McDonalds, one represents the other. The Solar Guy name is clearly registered as a DBA of ****** ****** ******** *** and such documentation can be found at the Kentucky Secretary of States Office. This is a very unfortunate circumstance the customer has been placed in, and we have done everything we can to make the process go as fast as possible. Including offering reimbursement of some of the payments made to them to the bank for the solar system, even though we are under no obligation to do so. Sometimes in solar there are delays because solar is a new item in some states, they aren't sure of the proper process in dealing with solar inspections. And it is not the fault of state officials for the delays, they don't create the rules, politicians do, and when they make rules that make no sense it is up to the state workers to try to read their minds to what what in the world they are requesting. We are 100% active in fixing this issue for the customer, the electricians, the state workers and inspectors are also doing what they can to fix the issue. BUT after the install the system was working perfectly, but it then falls to the state and local authorities to actually allow the system be turned on, not ****** ****** ******** ***.

I had a system I purchased from another company that had not worked properly since day one. I asked the Solar Guy if he could see what was wrong with it. He made an hour trip, explained to me a lot about solar I never knew, then he told me what needed done to fix it. I did what he said to do and it works fine. The guy didn't charge me a dime for the trip or advise. Wish I would of found the Solar Guy first because I can't get the other company to answer the phone, much less visit. Great guy, great company.
