INSURANCE FRAUD * BREACH OF CONTRACT * HEADING TO COURT
Rhoden was paid in full $23,417 per the contract on our roof /home (from a Hail Damaged claim) in Green Valley (Midwest & Eaton quoted Apples to Apples were both $4400 less than Rhoden).
If we would have only known not to fall for the Smoke & Mirror show that Rhodens team presents...They advertised this amazing way of caring for you the homeowner and the packet information about what they will do for your home is stellar - but FALSE MISREPRESENTATION -
They claim they are far better than anyone could ever imagine - but maybe worse! Folks there was No extras on our home, no work orders that we signed for and Rhoden didn't do anything out of the kindness of their hearts...they simply failed us..not even doing what they contracted to do. They didn't remove the old felt, they didn't inspect our roof deck for rot, they put new synthetic felt haphazardly over old felt, they didn't install the ridge vent per manufacture GAF specs (supposed to be 1 7/8" cut on each side of ridge - Rhoden was lazy and cut 2" on one side). They billed for the new ridge vent at 123' (and only installed 89') We hired another contractor to install remainder and fix what they didnt do. Rhoden billed for extras they didn't do and inflated the quantities on most everything they could. BEWARE of RHODENS practices. One of us was home during Tear off & install - most homeowners are not - that's why they have so many great reviews. As a contractor I know what my L&M costs are for each job, so does Rhoden. I am not going to let them screw my Insurance Co.
Rhoden made good money on our home, working his crews hard 9 hours installing 38 sq. They subd the gutters to A7 Contractors.
We are now heading to court on 7/20/23. Rhoden thinks he is going to sue us for the RCV agreement that they told us to sign, 'just in case' we should need it for those extras :). You know the ones Rhoden creates to inflate his Pockets.

This company is nice don’t get me wrong. They obviously have been doing this awhile with knowing what to say to fit their narrative. I felt they “verbally” sold me on a quote ($13,100) making me believe that was it, while “verbally” having me sign up to get on their schedule not knowing it was a contract. Nothing was said about extra fees before over even months after the job until I randomly got hit with and extra $4,400+ invoice (making the total job over $17,600 for gutters, vents, 2 deck boards and shingling). I understand this is 1,000% my fault legally but I can still be mad at the fact I believe they took advantage of us being naive 1st time home buyers in a natural disaster.
I’d describe this experience with this company as:
    -Very Nice
    -Professionally Deceptive ( verbally )
    -Carefully Calculated ( legally )
    -Shark Like
Like I said it’s 1,000% our fault legally but we are still mad about how they takes on their extra $4,400 fees for nail pick up and some other things
    -They invoiced us extra fees
    -We paid
-This has now been one of those experiences were we paid over $4,400 and learn just because their local and just because they say “just sign up here so we can do business and get you on our books” you still need to not take their “verbal conversation” as a done deal and well be a “Karen”

    Response from the owner:

Customer was only required to pay their insurance deductible out-of-pocket, per contract agreement. Sometimes, insurance policies have exclusions (e.g. won’t pay for work required to meet modern building code); however, that was not the case for this project, so the customer’s only out-of-pocket expense was the insurance deductible, as required by Kansas law.

The ‘additional’ money mentioned above was released by customer’s insurance at a later date for work completed and documented during construction. There was an extended delay for the insurance process, in part because final install work & gutters were delayed per customer request due to other work being performed on the house. Once insurance funds are released to the policyholder, Rhoden Roofing issues a final invoice to collect payment for work performed.
