      They will not stand behind their installation of a Garage Door at my residence. My door was installed in December of 2021 by Cheney Door Company. I did not have an instance to use the emergency cord for opening the door in case of an electrical failure until a couple of weeks ago. When I pulled very hard on the emergency the door would not release. I was on the phone with them asking what to do and after trying everything they suggested the cord would simply not disengage. So, I scheduled an appointment with them for the next day. Their technician came out and he could not get the door to release either. He wound up adjusting the closing force of the door at the door motor itself, he also noted on my copy of the ticket . This should have been checked at the time of the original installation. The original technician also installed a cotter pin backwards at the main fixture to raise the door by pulling out the pin. Backwards meant that the pin could not be pulled out unless I would have cut a hole in the insulated portion. If the head would have been installed properly, I could have removed it and the door could have been manually opened. Thank God this was not an emergency situation, or I would have surely been up a creek. Then the had audacity to bill me for just over * ******* dollars, and then threatened to file a Lien on my property until they had been paid. I sent them a check, but I am seeking a full refund ** *** ***** ***** and sincere apology. I will never use them for anything again, and will certainly expose their lack of customer service if I am ever asked to do so.

      We do stand behind our garage door installations. We have a one year warranty on doors installed. We installed your door in December of 2021. The warranty on the door would have expired in December of 2022. You called in February 2023 and the issue was not with your door but your ***** operator. We do not sell or warranty ***** operators. The service tech discovered the board on the ***** operator is going bad. Our service manager and techs are aware this is a known problem with ***** operators. He reset and adjusted it during the service call.

      The door has functioned properly for over a year, this was not a problem with the door purchased and therefore not part of the warranty.

      As with many other service industries such as electricians and plumbers, our policy for residential service is "Due at time of service". I am sorry for any misunderstanding or miscommunication with our terms or the diagnosed problem during the service call.

      Again, they simply do not stand behind their product. The door was not set properly at the time of installation and was not checked for emergency operation by the installer. Warranty has nothing to do with this particular installation. If this is their final word, then I stand by my initial complaint and I hope people will see this and think twice before using Cheney Door Co. for anything. I was seriously thinking about having them out to show me their home security system, but not They have lost my business forever
