- Additional Info:Mazuma Credit Union and BBB have received notice of a text messaging fraud attempt, known as "Smishing", that was sent to Credit Union Members appearing to be from Mazuma Credit Union. The text message appears as [email protected] and asks the Member call 818-483-5663 to verify payment history and claim Mazuma credit union 25$ fidelity bonus.If you should receive such a text, DO NOT RESPOND BY CALLING THE TELEPHONE NUMBER TO VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT. As with smishing scams, the sender is attempting to obtain personal information from those who respond to the text message.If you have called the telephone number and provided account information, contact Mazuma Credit Union at 816-361-4194 or 888-361-4194 immediately. In the future, never call a telephone number from a text message that appears to be from Mazuma. For security purposes, Mazuma will never contact you directly and ask for account information via telephone call, text message or e-mail.If you are not a member of Mazuma Credit Union and gave out your account information, please contact your financial institution directly.
