On 09/25/2025, I took my 2012 Chev, Traverse to Oades Brothers Tire & Auto as the car was making a metal rotation sound that I believed was coming from the front rotors. Later that day Oades informed me that the sound was coming from my Rear Differential and that it would have to be replaced. Oades informed me that there was no aftermarket parts and they were unable to locate any Used/Refurbished parts so I would have to buy new at a cost of $2584. I approved the repair. When I picked the Traverse up on 10/02/25 Oades informed me that there was also some rotation noise coming from the Torque Tube Assembly. They told me they did not believe I would be able to hear the noise from inside the car however, that repair would only be about half as it was easier to get parts and was not as labor intensive. I requested the Transfer Case they had removed and took it with me when I left. I took my Traverse out on the highway and the metallic rotation sound was exactly the same as prior to the new Transfer Case. I returned the Traverse to Oades the next day, 10/03.25, reporting that it sounded exactly the same. On 10/05/25, I called Oades and they informed me that they had located inexpensive parts to repair the DifferentaI Torque and Torque Tube and there would be no additional charge for parts and labor. I picked the Traverse up on 10/08/25 and no longer heard the metallic rotational sound. I took the original Transfer Case that they had removed from the Travers to a Master Mechanic, Certified Technician and it was his opinion that there was nothing wrong with this, the original Transfer Case. My complaint is that I believe I paid for a very expensive new Transfer Case along with 4 hours of labor that did not correct the problem. I believe the secondary repair would be half the cost or less than the original attempt. I believe Oades was deceptive on being unable to locate Aftermarket or Used/Refurbished as there are numerous available for a fraction of what I was charged.
