Been going here to get gas. They had a premium gas for same price as regular so used it. Car started knocking, making weird noises, went back to gas station & premium gas pump suddenly had warning stickers that it's for flex fuel. Transmission went out of car, 3 bolts broke off & transfer case now damaged, which is gong to cost about $8,000- $10,000 to get fixed & car is stuck in another town where it broke down. I always check gas labels & these flex fuel stickers weren't posted on gas pump at this station until after we used this gas. I feel this gas station is responsible for the car damage to our car. Thought we were getting a great deal on gas & here it caused thousands of dollars to our car. I have been getting gas in cars for 35 years & never had this issue. Gas station advertised premium gas which worn out sticker or no sticker was readable until other day, after the damage was caused. I would like for this gas station to pay the repairs to get our car back or at least a portion of the repairs. I've owned the car for 3-4 years & never had this issue until going to this gas station. Right after gas was put in car started knocking & acting up & issues only increased until transmission went out. Most cars it wouldn't even be worth paying for these repairs but my deceased mother helped me with getting this car partly, it's a rare car, we have no other car, the car has a lot of sentimental value & hasn't had any issues until the gas was added to car on accident from the gas stations mislabeling or non labeling of harmful gas.Had I noticed it I could of corrected it & prevented this damage but I didn't notice it because stickers were not readable or clear or posted at time we got this gas. Gas station made it appear I was putting a premium gas in car when in fact it's not a premium gas but a flex fuel gas only used for certain cars. Cost indicated could go up once work is started on car but I was given an estimate of the above stated amount.

    *******
This letter is in response to a letter I received from the
    Better Business Bureau ID# *********
I am contacting you direct and copying the BBB.
I am including a photo of the dispenser decals that were
installed on our dispensers just before Super Premium was introduced into our
system. No one fueled with this product before it was properly labeled. Please
notice the warning for fuel intended for Flex Fuel vehicles only, is on the
product ID decal. We purposely used this government required decal and put it
where regulating government departments suggest, which is where buyers are
making the decision which product they are choosing.
I have noticed, however, that a marketer in close proximity
to our ********* 24/7 Travel Store who markets the same product has the decal
stating this product is for flex fuel vehicles only under the main part of the
dispenser not in a conspicuous spot for consumers to see. Please check your
receipt to see if you fueled at those dispensers instead of at ********* 24/7
    Travel Store.
Thank you for your inquiry. If you need further information,
please contact me directly at the information provided below.

I am rejecting this response because:

Gas station we got the gas at is this station. We also have images of the pump before and after. We also checked the other gas stations in area to see what this person is talking about and the other gas station is clearly labeled flex fuel and separate. This gas station wasn't and or isn't. Gas station is making excuses to get away with paying for damages to our car. I have stopped going here which is a  loss to them as we get gas every other day in a tank. I will have to take this matter to small claims court and or the Attorney General to try & get some compensation for the damages. Places can sure take your money but they never want to do anything about anything. Just a shame.  Sincerely,

    BBB representatives

Triplett Inc. dba ********* 24/7 Travel Store has and is following Federal and State guidelines for proper product identification on our fuel dispensers. The claim that our dispenser labeling had led her to put improper fuel into her automobile has me confused. As I suggested there is a fuel marketer in our area who does not clearly label their dispensers. ******* stated in her letter that she has pictures of our fuel dispensers without proper identification on them. I called ******* on the phone number provided by BBB on February 26, 2025 and was able to visit with a person identifying themselves as ******* *****. I asked her to send me the pictures so I could understand why she was confused by our labeling. I gave her both my cell number and my email address again. As of March 20, 2025 ******* has not sent me pictures nor reached out directly to me by letter, email or phone.

I encourage BBB to close this unfounded claim.
