1 starWhile researching new Ford trucks on Carfax, I came across a 2023 Ford F150 Lariat being offered by Midwest Superstore of Hutchinson, Ks. The ad stated that the truck was new with only 6 miles on it. I live about 450 miles from Hutchinson, Ks in St. Louis, MO but figured the drive was worth it to be getting a truck that was exactly what I was looking for equipment and color wise. After driving 8 hours the next day my wife and myself purchased the truck after turning down an offer to test drive it since I've owned Ford trucks my whole life. After paperwork was completed we walked out with the sales person to put the temp tags on and prepare for the long drive home. The first thing we noticed was the tires were extremely dirty and the exterior was not much better. After waiting another hour and them taking it back into the service area twice to get it looking new we got ready to drive it home. That was when I noticed that the truck had almost 700 miles on it and hardly looked new. After talking to the sales manager and being told there was nothing they could do to make it right, I decided to take it up with the General manager, Curt Butler after I got home. After leaving 4 or 5 messages and never getting a call back from Curt, I decided to call Ford and open a complaint about being deceived about the milage. I always take extra care of my new trucks for the first 1,000 miles and don't drive them over 65 MPH since new parts are breaking in. For example, the owner's manual says “your vehicle requires a break-in period.” Ford recommends that for the first 1,000 miles owners should avoid driving at high speeds, heavy braking, aggressive shifting, or using your vehicle to tow. I have no idea how the truck was driven for that 700 miles that it was used. I would never buy another vehicle from Midwest Superstore since they didn't even have the decency to return my calls. Never has a new truck felt so used!Midwest Superstore

You drove 16 hours total to buy a vehicle that had a huge discount. We asked you to take a test drive, you refused. If you had taken a test drive you would have noticed the trucks miles. It's a new truck and is under warranty.
Cars get miles on them from test drives and dealertrades, and thats what the truck was, a dealertrade. You still happily signed all the paperwork and drove home with your new truck.Review fromScott D

1 starHad work done to get a single wheel bearing replaced. After looking online to see what the average cost would be for parts and labor the high end on average was around the $500 range. We were finally able to schedule a time after multiple calls with the service department, and being told that someone would call us back, which never happened. After the vehicle was dropped off for a 7am appointment the vehicle was finally ready at 5:30 in the evening for a total of $800 dollars. Their pricing is absolutely ridiculous. Prior to coming here, we looked at the average length of time it would take to complete the job, and the high end was 2 hours for a single wheel bearing. The service center charged 3.4 hours of labor @ $150 an hour for the fix. After being upset by this we paid for the vehicle and left, only to now have our vehicle severely start pulling to the left when driving (a problem that was nonexistent prior to bringing the car in. This is further confirmed by an alignment test they did prior to working on the vehicle which showed no problems, at least that is what is on the receipt.) So, we called them immediately and the person said to bring it in, in the morning so they can look at it. The next morning it was taken in, and we were told that it would be $120 to get an alignment because "it wasn't their fault". I would highly steer anyone away from ever doing business with the service center unless you want absolutely gouged by prices, made up labor hours (or inept service techs) and terrible customer service. We will never returnMidwest Superstore

Scott, i'm so sorry to hear this. I went back and talked with my service manager Matt, he should be giving you a call today to make this right. If we over charged we will definitely get you a refund and if it needs aligned we will get that done as well. I apologize for the trouble!Review fromJohn C

1 starI would give them -100 stars. Misleading business ethics by This store and business manager Chris B***. He agreed to take my refund for down payment even though it was being reviewed by IRS for accuracy. The IRS does this to several citizens. My cpa guarantees its accuracy a simple w2 form. I gave him the notice and said there was no deadline. 2 weeks later he wants the vehicle back that I thought I was fully approved on. Why did he let me take the vehicle if I wasn't approved. I had insurance for the 2 weeks I thought I owned it. So Midwest owes me money now. I'm a disabled citizen and they put my life at risk. Plus I'm on a limited budget and I lost money for insurance and gas. Super car guys in west wichita did the same thing. 2cweeks after we thought we owned the car they wanted $1000 more down and I said no. I gave the vehicle back. This should be against the law. It's a scam and they are predators. They are cheaters and liars. Beware of this tactic. Its a nightmare.Midwest Superstore

Hey John,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I understand your frustration, but I believe there are some important details that need to be clarified.
Firstly, I want to assure you that you were indeed approved for the car loan. However, the issue arose with the $5,000 down payment, which you had initially indicated you would provide by the end of the month.
Unfortunately, we encountered a setback when you were notified that your tax refund would be delayed for 120 days due to an IRS investigation into a mistake on your returns.
Given the time-sensitive nature of loan approvals, we reached out to explore alternative options for securing the down payment. Regrettably, when presented with these options, you expressed that you were unable to come up with the funds at that time, understandably causing frustration.
It's important to clarify that our actions were not meant to deceive or act unethically. In truth, due to the specifics of your credit situation, the bank required the $5,000 down payment to proceed with the loan.
Once your refund check becomes available, we would be more than happy to submit for a new approval process.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly.Review fromJustin M.

1 starI purchased a vehicle from them. I live in Oklahoma. I was told on NUMEROUS calls my financing would pay my TT&L & I wouldn’t owe anything to get my plates & registration. I was given a 60 day temp tag & they waited 59 days to mail my information to Oklahoma for my tags. Then was told I owed $1500+ for my registration & Tags! I begged on every call to tell me if I would owe anything & kept being told NO! It was part of the loan. Now that Oklahoma is saying I owe, this dealership is not owning up to their faults. Jason Stroop, finance dept, & Tim stopped answering my calls & would continue to trll others to tell me they would call me back. There was always an excuse ( meetings, lunch, out of office, etc..) This dealership is a fraud filled with lies from the moment I purchased the vehicle & they took my down payment!! Ever since then, they could give 2 cents on me or my issue because I’m no longer considered a buyer at that point! This is a DEALERSHIP ISSUE, not a ME issue. I held up on everything I was supposed to. THEY DIDNT!! EVERYTHING they needed from me, DONE. Everything I need from them, NOTHING!!! This is all documented for proof that this dealership operates as if they are a fly by night operation. I hope EVERYONE understands this business is based on LIES!!! ALL LIES!Midwest Superstore

Justin, we have explained that your sales tax was included in the deal with your financing. What you are being told you owe on is your property tax and tags, which we have nothing to do with. Every person you have talked to has told you the exact same thing, including myself, twice. We have nothing to do with property taxes, that is between you and the state you register it in. Property tax is always separate from sales tax.Justin M.

I’m glad you said this on record that the sales tax was included in the financing because that’s not what I’ve been told. I was told I was getting a check from you for only $200 & something dollars. The sales tax alone is $381.35 & the penalty as of today is $41.14 continues to a rise $3 / day until paid. So again, everything you guys continue to tell me is FALSE! I’ve STILL yet to get a returned call from management regarding this after being told someone will call me. So I will continue to respond until this issue is fully cleared.Review fromDakota M

1 starI bought a car 3 months ago and it’s been in the shop more than I have driven it. My boyfriend and I have both called to talk to someone and no one will answer or get back to us about it and it’s been 3 days. That’s not very good customer service.Midwest Superstore
