Rader Lodge is a con. The lodge is on the internet and there is actually NO LODGE. Jeff went bankrupt two to three years ago and does guided and non-guided hunts on different farms. We paid him $1750 a day for 5 people to hunt $9050 for the week. Jeff said most of the time we would limit out. Starting Monday Jeff met us at the breakfast bar and gave us a hunting app and gave us a pin on the map on where to hunt. He sent us to a farm and said the guys Sunday missed alot of birds so we should be good. Between the 5 of us we shot 7 pheasant and 6 quail. We realized we were hunting stocked birds. Didn't jump any hens, just rooster, so we knew there couldn't be and reproduction. Tuesday Jeff gave us another point and we only got up two birds. Called Jeff and he said we would do a emergency hunt. He gave us another location and we found he stocked 15 birds and two where so dizzy that the dogs caught them. Wednesday we got 12 birds, Thursday got 13 birds. We wanted to hunt in the afternoons but where Jeff sent us there were no birds. Just tired us and dogs out. Friday the last day Jeff sent us another point. We jumped one quail all day. We asked for out money back for that day but Jeff has never returned anything. We at times hunt six dogs at a time and our dogs are shooting preserve dogs so if birds are there dogs will find them.
Jeff made a fortune on us and he only cares about himself. Talking to the farmers there are not many wild birds left in Central Kansas. They have gone with no till farming and harvesting the corn and soybean to the bare ground. No food at all. Only place we could hunt was area a famer couldn't farm. W found Jeff's truck tracks at each farm so we knew the birds where stocked before we hunted. read less
