    November 2024 I received an ad from Evergy about receiving a rebate for .replacing old HVA/C equipment at my home. I contacted the Ball Heating & Air Conditioning, the company I have used for years. I signed an agreement to replace equipment with the understading that it would meet the requirements for an Evergy rebate, as well as rebates from state and national governments. within the year 2024. The installation was not well done, requiring several service calls, even after I paid the $8468.75. I have made frequent phone calls to the contractor about the Evergy rebate. I am now told by Evergy that no request for rebate has ever been filed by the company. Repeated calls to Ball have resulted in no action. I was told that one of the parts of the equipment had the wrong serial number which Evergy had refused. Evergy having no record of any application, I can't understand what the problem is. I began the purchase with the understanding that I was getting equipment that would qualify for a rebate. This has gone on for seven months and I feel I have been cheated. Now I wonder if I even got the equipment that I paid for.

    We will get the paperwork for the rebate refiled with Evergy this week. The consumer will then need to work directly with Evergy, as Evergy will be responsible for any further correspondence regarding the rebate.

    I am rejecting this response because:  I will not be satisfied until the application for rebate has been accepted by Evergy and they agree to pay the rebate.  This may just be a case of waiting for Evergy to get to the paperwork, but I was promised equipment that qualified for rebate and will wait until it is confirmed by Evergy.
