    I purchased a 2014 ********** Outlander from TJ Auto on 9/20/23. I paid $4,280 for the vehicle. I was assured by TJ if I have any problems with the vehicle, I should only bring it back to them because they rebuilt the vehicle and know everything about the vehicle. Within two days, the vehicles engine started to overheat and I promptly took it back to TJ to find the issue. They said it was just a belt that snapped, which they fixed and did not charge me. Two weeks later the vehicle was having issues again. I took it back to TJ, who kept the vehicle for two weeks. They called me and told me that everything was fixed and my vehicle was ready for pickup. When I got into the vehicle, I noticed that it still sounded the same, which was awful! The mechanic told me they couldnt figure it out but it must be a water in the fuel tank so I should purchase a bottle of Heat for the tank and just drive it until the tank is almost empty and the problem would be fixed. I followed these instructions and a day later the vehicle wouldnt start up! I called TJ and they they said bring it in and they will look at it again. The following week when I had time off work I called TJ and was told the mechanic would call me back. I never received a call back and when I called again I got no answer. For the past seven months, I have been unable to reach anyone at TJ and the phone line is seemingly disconnected and when I went up to the business, it looked abandoned! I feel ripped up off by this company and am very disappointed by their shady actions. I took my vehicle to another mechanic who diagnosed that the engine was shot on the truck. I have barely driven this vehicle 50 miles and now I have no way to get ahold of the business that sold this lemon to me.

     I am rejecting this response because: TJ Auto repeatedly stated before and after sale, that they rebuilt this vehicle themselves and to not take it to anyone else. They did not ever state that ALL their vehicles are rebuilt and purchased from the city of Chicago auto auction. In fact ******* has never been mentioned until I filed this complaint. TJ auto states that they had the vehicle for three days when in fact they had the vehicle for two weeks, returning it in the exact same condition. The vehicle was noisy and shaking violently when I brought it to them and when they returned it. The claims to otherwise are simply false. I followed the mechanic, who claimed that ** rebuilt the vehicle themselves, said he checked everything and all he could figure that it was a little water in my fuel tank. That was completely false and I have been continuously misled by this dealership that I put my trust and hard earned money into. The vehicle had issues within two days after purchase. This vehicle has been driven less than 50 miles and TJ auto has dodged and are still dodging ever fixing the vehicle. I am asking for a full refund for a vehicle that was on its last days and was sold by **, intentionally knowing the vehicle was worthless. Especially as issues arose in under driving ten miles.
