  I hired Emanuel/E&L Builders to install a new “top quality” concrete driveway at a premium price. I trusted him & paid in full ($14,940) exluding minor repairs. Prior to starting work (on 11/17/2020). While they worked I noticed holes in the concrete, he said he would return to fix them. Days later I noticed the new concrete crumbling, had no defined squares, found concrete splattered on my house. I called Emanuel several times, he promised to return in a few months but never came or returned calls, showing up unannounced next spring. He used a power saw to cut the square slabs(incorrect method), sprayed wrong sealant that left streaks, filled defects/holes with putty that didn’t match the color. His “repairs” immediately failed, causing more areas to crumble. He also improperly installed a new, insufficient inches driveway drain that overflows with rain. He claimed I need to clean it monthly but I can’t remove the new lid. After many months, repeated calls he returned, chipped concrete around the drain but I’m still unable to open it. Again I asked him to fix the several issues. 6 months later he applied more putty but hasn’t acknowledged the botched work, extensive cracking, crumbling, chipping, holes, streaking sealant, slippery finish, clogged tight drain/water damage & overall deterioration of the relatively new driveway. On 9/10/2022 he came to fix the drain, falsely claiming someone glued it shut, finally chipping enough concrete and looking bad. He says his business is closing & there is nothing more that he will do. The step is a slip hazard as it is a smooth finish. The standing water from the drain is will be a hazard this winter when it freezes, water will go into the cracks and will cause even further cracking of that area. Four neighbors had driveways put in at the same time and they are nice and clean looking while mine is crumbling, has dark streaks and is deteriorating. Seeking full refund for a new driveway that I am now required to purchase again.
