Consumer Beware: We purchased a home from Pulte/Centex in January 2019 and have encountered numerous issues since then, for which the company has not taken responsibility. Initially, we experienced multiple leaks in the basement that required sealing over the first two years. More recently, the main floor has started to split, with the flooring manufacturer and installers blaming each other. Pulte has attributed the problem to excessive humidity in our home, suggesting that we should have installed a humidifier, despite no prior communication indicating this requirement.Additionally, we have noticed that several walls are detaching from the baseboards and some are bowing more than a quarter of an inch. While a Pulte representative acknowledged that anything over a quarter inch would be addressed, Pulte ultimately decided that these issues do not fall under their responsibility and do not qualify under the Pulte National Warranty. The warranty only covers home settling for one year, despite the fact that it is widely known that most homes settle over 5 to 10 years. This limited coverage appears to be a means for Pulte/Centex to minimize their ************** homeowners who have invested significant effort into a newly built home, we are seeking accountability from Pulte/Centex and hope they prioritize customer satisfaction over profit. The company suggested that if we disagreed with their decision, we could request mediation with a warranty service corporation they are affiliated withanother strategy that seems designed to further delay addressing the issues. We urge Pulte/****** to take responsibility for the quality of their work and stand by their commitment to their customers.

This complaint is not a duplicate.
the prior complaint was for our main floor, which Pulte never fixed and we had to figure out a way to get it fixed.

This complaint is the walls coming away from the baseboards on numerous walls. Multiple walls are bowing more than a quarter inch and is causing an instability in our walls.

This should not happen to a 6 year old home and Pulte should be responsible for the fixture of this.

Please reconsider the decision on this complaint.

    Thank you

The home is under warranty for certain items still,  but Pulte/Centex is stating the walls bowing and pulling away from the baseboard is the house settling.

As a consumer, this company is ripping off numerous people when they state the home is only covered for 1 year and always placing the cause on anyone but them.

I have multiple contractors state that a home settles within the 5+ ***** never the first year.

This is absolutely wrong for a company that is stealing from consumers on their homes for their big profit.

I am writing to express serious dissatisfaction with the construction quality and lack of accountability exhibited by Pulte Homes. My home, constructed by Pulte Homes (Centex) in 2019, has faced significant issues, particularly with the flooring. We have observed noticeable instability in the floor. When we contacted Pulte Homes, we were informed that the floor's instability, attributed to the home being a floating floor, would resolve once the house settled. Five years later, the floor has deteriorated significantly, with planks separating and creating large gaps, resulting in a ripple effect throughout the main floor.Initially, we consulted America's Floor Source, who assessed the situation and identified either defective flooring or an issue with the subfloor as the cause. They subsequently filed a claim with the manufacturer, ****, who attributed the damage to moisture and a defective subfloor. This situation brought us back to Pulte Homes for another assessment. Unfortunately, their response remains dismissive, attributing the issue to moisture rather than acknowledging the possibility of a subfloor ********* homeowners, we are shouldering the burden of what appears to be a construction flaw. As a reputable builder, Pulte Homes should take responsibility and provide a solution rather than deflecting blame and evading accountability. We have documentation of similar occurrences with other homeowners who have purchased from Pulte Homes.I urge Pulte Homes and the associated companies to cease the finger-pointing and collaboratively address this issue. I feel compelled to warn potential homebuyers about the quality and reliability of Pulte Homes' construction. It is crucial that consumers are aware of builders who cut corners and fail to take responsibility for their shortcomings.
