    ******** ********, doing business as Tree Medics, in partnership with his son by the same name, offered to do some home repair work for my elderly mother. He did some of the work (removing a dead tree, repairing some masonry, some tuckpointing work) and was paid appropriately ($5,400 total over two separate occasions). The next day he asked for an advance payment of $10,000 for the rest of the work, then asked for another $6,000 two days later, both of which my poor sympathetic mother paid him in person by check. The last payment was on 7/24/25. He never came back to finish the work or repair the work he did that had already fallen apart, despite promising to do so on a few occasions when I called him to complain. The work he and his son did was very shoddy. The panes of glass that he replaced fell out the next day. The touch-up paint he did was the wrong color and does not match the rest of the wall. The tuckpointing does not match the color of the surrounding masonry work. He claimed to have replaced some missing slates on the roof, but he failed to replace the only missing piece that can be seen from the ground and yet used up all of my mother's spare tiles.
