On 8/11/2023 I hired *** to move a $32,000 tool box at a cost of $325. I had used them in the past without any issues. This time, however, the box was damaged due to the way it was secured to the flatbed truck. One of the stainless steel tops was bent and the paint was damaged on the box from the stainless steel top being forced down from the strap used to secure it. The top alone cost $1990 plus tax and to repaint the back of the box where the damage occurred will cost $400-$1200. The body shop I use said that if they can match the color $400-$500 should cover the repair but that if it cant be matched the whole back of the box will need repainted for it to look right. The box is 10 feet long and 4 feet tallI contacted them as soon as I seen the damage. The box was moved on a Friday and I noticed it the following day. I called them on Sunday 8/10/2023 and was told to call ***** who handles the claims on Monday and he would get it taken care of. Over the course of the next month I called at least 15 times and was told ***** wasnt there or I was transferred to his office phone. Every time I was transferred I waited on hold until I was finally hung up on. I had sent several pictures of the damage to a persons cell phone number that I am assuming is the dispatcher. After several weeks of ***** not calling me back I sent the dispatch person a text that I was going to turn the damage in to State Farm since the box is insured thru an inland marine policy and State Farm would try to recover the money thru subrogation and I would file in small claims for my $1000 deductible. I received a text from ***** the next day stating he was going to look at the pictures the driver took on the day it was moved. I have not heard back from him and its been 8 days since that text. I would like to note that on my initial call with the dispatch person he told me to stay on the line while he pulled up the pictures the driver took that day. I told him he would see that the damage was in the exact area where the driver strapped it down. Surprisingly enough he said the pictures werent in their computer system. When the driver was taking the pictures he commented that he had to send them into dispatch before leaving to document everything. But apparently now they are gone. The damage to the tool box is roughly $2400-$3400. I used this company because I knew the owner ************* and his son in law *** years ago when they ran this business and always had trust in their business.
