My experience with Wheaton/Bekins, began positively. The team that packed and transported our belongings to a new state was professional and efficient. Unfortunately, the experience deteriorated significantly after the move. The local agent has offered no meaningful support in resolving ongoing issues. Several items were lost during transit, and others arrived damaged despite being properly packed. Most troubling was the lack of accountability from customer service.Attempts to resolve these issues through the companys claims process were met with resistance. ****** ********, the internal claims adjuster responsible for handling such matters, appeared focused solely on absolving the company of responsibility. Her approach felt adversarialaimed more at finding grounds to deny the claim than at helping reach a fair resolution.A moving companys true value lies not just in transporting belongings, but in how it responds when problems arise. In this case, the response was neither empathetic nor constructive.I urge future customers to meticulously document every step of the process and to consider alternative providers with a proven reputation for service and accountability.

While our initial contact was with Bekins Van Lines to facilitate our move from **** to **********, the experience was severely impacted by their choice of subcontractor, *******************************, and the actions of their driver, JJ.Bekins provided an initial 7-9 day delivery estimate. However, the actual delivery took 12 days because **, the ******* driver assigned to our move, informed us of a significant delay due to him needing to backtrack to ******** for truck repairs.Upon reaching **********, ** unloaded our belongings into a storage unit (as our home wasn't ready), stating that liability for missing or damaged items ended there. Critically, two months later, the movers ** hired for the storage unload informed us that JJ's truck had been broken into during transit. They even mentioned JJ's wife re-taping boxes, indicating his awareness of the theft. ** never disclosed this to us not during the delivery delay, nor at the storage unit. Storage surveillance confirmed no issues at their facility. The missing items, approximately $5000 worth of specific collectibles that ** himself packed and loaded, strongly suggest targeted theft during the cross-country transit where he had sole control. While we understand Bekins contracted this work, the complete lack of transparency and apparent dishonesty from their chosen subcontractor's driver is unacceptable. The contractual end of liability upon storage delivery feels deeply unfair under these deceptive circumstances.Bekins needs to ensure greater accountability and transparency from their subcontractors, especially when a driver's actions directly lead to customer loss and a significant breach of trust. This experience with Bekins' network was deeply disappointing and resulted in a considerable financial loss due to the dishonesty of the individual they entrusted with our possessions.

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. My experience with this moving service was deeply frustrating and marked by poor planning, lack of communication, and an overall disregard for customer service. We were scheduled for a single truck, but on moving dayafter nearly finishing packingwe were informed the truck was already full from a previous job. We were forced to arrange a second truck for the following day, despite already having moved our original date once due to similar issues. Because we had prior travel plans, our family had to rearrange their schedules to cover the move. When the movers arrived, third-party laborers showed up at 8:45 AM, but the truck didnt arrive until 11:00. The next day, the second truck was supposed to arrive between 8:009:00 AM and didnt show until 9:30. We also incurred losses from canceled hotel reservations due to delays and received no clear delivery timeline.I communicated that our belongings needed to be delivered before March 30, as we would be away from March 31April 17. That request was not honored. I then proposed an April 21 delivery date weeks in advance, but had to follow up myself. On that date, I was told our belongings were still in the original warehouse. The company offered no accountabilityjust excuses. When escalated, I was referred to a senior move coordinator who responded, Well, you have your essentials, dont you?an unprofessional and dismissive comment given the extent of the ******** wasnt until I sent a strongly worded email that I received a response. I was told there would be yet another delaybecause the company insisted on using the original driver rather than assigning someone new, clearly prioritizing cost over customer care. This company has shown a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and responsibility. Im filing this complaint in hopes of preventing others from experiencing similar issues.

1)our original representative left the company and no one contacted us to let us know about this and discuss the plan, our emails weren't even returned until I emailed again as to why we had not heard back from anyone in over a week.2)Ginny's girls said they went over responsibilities several times with you however these responsibilities were never followed through causing moving day chaos.3) I was asked if I could pack my own artwork and tv's, and then told that you couldn't remove anything from walls without any previous information on what you could or could not do during a move without any prior communication from Bekins about what to prepare for, in fact I had been told by **** ****** that you would absolutely handle this. This is a move for an 84 year old disabled woman! 4)driver called at 9am and told us he was 20 minutes out on moving day then didn't show up until 12pm. ****** told me if it wasn't on his list he couldn't touch anything which his list only included wardrobe and mattress. He later ended up packing tv's and artwork but he never offered to call dispatch and find out confusion.5) Driver showed up in a U-HAUL even though I had specifically told **** that the truck could easily make it into the neighborhood and block the street as we would use out driveway for cars to get past and khad neighborhood open all gates from 8-6pm. Driver said this information would have saved us HOURS.6)driver left at 3 pm saying he would be back in an hour from loading uhaul load and didn't come back until 6:30pm and didn't answer his cell or text. When we spoke with ***** she told us she was very sorry but there was nothing she could do. Those of us at the house didn't get dinner until after 8pm as we were not sure what was happening. Movers were there until 10pm.7)******** and ***** now won't return emails from me and our goods are supposed tp be delivered in 2 days.

Thank you for providing this feedback.  Our Bekins agent, Move Northwest has been coordinating the move and communicating with Ms. ************ Move Northwest acknowledged the loading day took longer than anticipated but it did complete on the agreed upon date.  Move Northwest also stated that the delivery is scheduled for Monday, March 10, which is within the agreed upon delivery spread.  ***** ***** from Move Northwest advised she's been communicating with Ms. ***** throughout her relocation and will continue being her point of contact to address any remaining concerns.  We apologize for any inconveniences but look forward to the opportunity of ending Ms. ******* move on a positive note.

Our move from **** to ********** with Bekins, which is now owned by *******, was a nightmare from start to finish. We suffered loss of our belongings plus damage to beloved antique furniture. They packed and shipped items labeled Do not pack and had failed to renew their high rise delivery insurance and pre-hire a smaller truck for delivery into our building, which caused unnecessary delay of delivery. They had been told well in advance that the small truck was necessary. They left a huge crate in the hallway of our retirement community for three days, violating ********** law. We incurred over $5,100 in costs to return, replace, and repair our belongings. That was just the beginning. We then spent 11 1/2months arguing with the adjuster who tried to talk us out of what was clearly due to us. After an exchange of twelve letters, she finally agreed to our full claim on the advice of her supervisor, having caused a great deal of sadness and frustration throughout the process.

I moved from ********** to ********* **************. I contacted A&P Moving who are affiliated with Bekins. On 7 11 23 A&P moving met me at my storage facility in ********** where all of my belongings were stored because I had sold my house on May 1st and moved to *********. I returned to be there when A&P arrived to let them into the storage facility. An agent from A&P estimated the move would cost $14,802. and no more than $16,282. I got three estimates and this was the lowest price. I felt good about the transaction and felt my belongings would be safe with Bekins. A&P moved my belongings to a storage facility where it was kept for a week before Bekins picked it up. I was told they had a system of color coding to keep up with my things. I purchased insurance from them with a $250 deductible. I get a call the day before delivery that I would have to pay $21,887!! I was absolutely floored but what could I do, they had all of my things. They said my things weighed more than they expected. My furniture arrived on July 29th 2023 And the driver had 3 local people helping to unload. It was a very hot humid day in *********. It took several hours to unload. There was no way I could tell if all my boxes were delivered because they were in every room of my new house. some piled on top of others. The driver had me to sign about eleven pages that I had received everything. It took me about a month to unpack everything. That's when I discovered that I had quite a few items that were broken damaged dishes and large statues broken and about six missing boxes. I filed a claim on August 24th and was given in Adjuster by the name of *****************************. I had not heard anything by the end of October, so I called her and she stated a settlement letter was mailed out in September. She said she would mail it again. I received it about a week later, basically stating my claim was being dismissed! This adjuster decided to trust the driver and workes. The customer doesn't matter!!!

At origin in ******** I was notified that some of my furniture would not be covered for loss because it was made of particle board. I had no choice but to sign the document with a list of all the furniture or the driver would not take the furniture. I had no choice but to sign the document since I could not leave the furniture in the house! I was also told they could not take my king size mattress because it looked like it had bed bugs. There was no evidence of active bed bugs, just some stains. After making a phone call the driver said it would be OK and he took the mattress, but it caused me a lot of stress. My goods were shipped to storage in *******. I was not notified when my good arrived in *******! It was only after I called the local ******* Bekins office and they told me my goods had arrived several days earlier.I tried to established a firm date for delivery of my goods from storage. This was important because I was in a rental house and had to be out by December 31st. Several weeks out I was told that the last week of December would be no problem because it was slow period. Then 2 weeks out I asked for December 28 but was told by the local agent that she had to contact "corporate". After several days of stalling she finally told me the delivery date would have to be after the new year! It was only after I insisted that I speak to the operations manager that I was given the date of December 28. The whole process caused me considerable stress and I could not relax until my goods actually arrived at my home. The delivery team did no assemble my king **** and my wife and I had to do it.
