I had a rescheduled appointment at 24/7 dental on *********** on Saturday December 21st at 8am. I received several confirmation texts leading up to the appointment. On 12/20 @ 7:57pm EST I received a text from them that stated I have a balance of $343.90 on my account and asked "would you be able to make a payment on this balance at your appointment tomorrow? I responded with "for what?" and no. There was no response to that text, but I received another reminder text for the appointment at 6:48am. I arrived at 8am for my appointment and advised that I received a text stating that I have a balance and asked if they could explain what it was for. There were several team members sitting in the area. The associate i was speaking to was trying to explain when another associate started speaking over her and seemed frustrated that i was asking about the balance. At that point i just requested a printout with details and that i would contact the insurance company. Then the other associate that i was not speaking with proceeded to tell the other associate to just print it, she handed it to me and stated that I cannot be seen until the balance is paid in full. I asked for her name, and she stated it was *****. She was very rude and didn't provide any options. I have never had a dentist office that miscalculated insurance to not allow payments and refuse service. If this is the policy, the text sent the previous day should not have request a payment and should have advised that I could not be seen until the balance was resolved.

    Hello,

this is the pts detailed billing and EOB's from her insurance company on what they covered and do not cover. She does have a total balance of $396.70. She has had two appointments one from 6/8 and 8/17. This is why we are saying that she needs to pay something on the balances it has been 6 months ago on an owed amount. Two bills have been sent in the mail to the patient and was aware of the balances. Please feel free to reach out to me with anymore questions regarding this issue.

    Thank you!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
It contradicts what was stated onsite, that the balance needed to be paid in full. I have not received any statements at my home and the first mention of a balance was via text prior to my appointment.
I will work with them on the correct address and make payments to clear the bill but will never go back to them.

    Regards,

Just found out some awful things about this place , I went to another denist to have a second opinion on what was done to my mouth by 247 & they charged my insurance for teeth that wasn't even touched , they also did teeth that DID not have cavities but than skipped 4 teeth that did have cavities. My other denist said my teeth HAVE NOT been cleaned in over a year but 247 said they scaled & cleaned of course told my insurance it was done . I knew something was off because I've had my teeth cleaned before & they said " we just do it a different way".They also said I have gingivitis & that I had to pay 400$ FOR A RINSE for 2x rinses i only had 1 & they put down that i had 2 . I paid the money in full cash . They have cameras and you can see it was not done . They used & manipulated me because im young & Naive to getting my teeth fixed. They told my insurance that they did several things to use all of my benefits to get paid by them . 2,500$ from insurance was took from my benefits.

I have attached the signed treatment plans and completed doctors note of the treatment done on this patient. She is saying we used $2500 of her insurance the patient has HIP MATERINTY insurance which there is no *** and she has unlimited fillings and extractions on her plan on what she can use and she pays nothing out of pocket. A prior authorization is sent to her insurance for the deep cleaning and if they deny the cleaning then it can be $400 out of pocket. We do not have patient pay for any kind of mouth rinse that is sent to her pharmacy if she needs it. I have attached the payments that she had made and how insurance has covered the fillings and cleaning in full.

You charged me 400$ for a gingivitis irrigation on 7-19-23 , I have receipts that I'm getting from my bank . On the pdf you sent me it says my portion was 0$ ? But you charged me 400$ in office for a "rinse" that was 92 $ per section.  There was nothing sent to a pharmacy.  You charged me for a double rinse IN OFFICE and only did 1 rinse but you put in the computer that it was done twice .

My teeth were never cleaned yet you charged my insurance for a cleaning . I have a new densit that said my teeth have been cleaned in over a YEAR .

Here is what I circled that I was charged for . I'll be getting bank statements today and post them.

Just because I have unlimited fillings and extractions doesn't mean you guys can authorize to my insurance that you did a tooth that ****** has had a metal plate on it that's been on there since I was 15 years old . The new denist also had to call my insurance and explain what was going on because once 24/7 did 10 fillings on my teeth , legally the new denist was not aloud to touch them for 1 year , they were done incorrectly & skipped over ,

she really wanted to fix them for me but could not because 24/7 had already got an authorization from my insurance so they wouldn't cover anything on the teeth that were approved & "done"

The office did call and said they would credit the $255.00 to my credit card.  I have to wait 3 to 5 business days to confirm they did so.  The other issue that is not resolved is the payment from Cigna for the bone graft.  ***** stated that the office finally submitted the x-ray and narrative.  It is now being reprocessed.  The contracted fee is $155.00  If Cigna pays they will pay $77.50.  Then the office will owe me an additional refund of $77.50.  I will contact your office when I receive confirmation of the credit to my credit card.    I will also contact you when I receive the updated explanation of benefits from Cigna.

Thank you for your help in this matter.  I will contact you soon.

In regards to the last statement that has been sent back to us about another refund, once Cigna pays anything on the claim we will give the patient anything that has been over paid on their end. The last EOB we have received from his insurance denied payment on the code D7953. 24/7 Dental will reach out to the patient once a check has been made to our office on the payment. If you have any more questions or concerns please feel free to contact
