    I am filing a complaint, because My Apartments Irvington Lofts has taken my rent money & refused to return a receipt to me. And is now taking me to court saying I owe an amount that is 10 times more than what is the truth. I am not the only one going through this no one receives receipts For our rent payments. And we are all being taken to court. This is theft. We have sought out free legal aid, but no one wants to go against the apartments. I have nowhere to go and I have given them my rent. Please help me. I also have emails and texts messages stating that I dont owe anything and to ignore the court documents.

    Upon the initial signing of the lease tenants were told the price of the unit would reflect based income at a fixed rate. Also to expect there may be a slight increase in the rent each lease signing. Each unit reflecting a different amount. Charges on each ledger reflected different amounts uncomparable and when a new ledger would be drawn there would be no matching explanation of fees nor explanation regarding non working utilities. Receipts were only provided when asked. Utilities were seperate from the rent initially and then added factored into rent never illustrating the increase. Each lease signing a large increase or small increase with no explanation. Private information was shared with a new application approved each lease signing and a third company for approval of new lease terms. Each lease drawn different from the next and a change in company names. Repairs were not followed up and dangerous conditions impacting health on the rise regarding tenants including no heat, no air, molds, leaks, fire, broken window cranks and unsafe conditions involving theft and violence in the parking lot and surrounding areas. New rules and regulations would be added absent from the lease and apartments entered for inspection or unannounced visitations. Tenants would be told repairs would be made only to face lingering issues and unsafe conditions. Utilities seperate from rent than made inclusive overcharging for utilities tenants did not receive as there were ******* without air and ******* without heat. Tenants with disabilities were in jeopardy as well as heavy doors had no handicap access and hard unfinished floors slippery placed on all floors. Maintenance was non responsive regarding emergency repairs and followup and tenants told to expect a long wait on the order of parts. Pets unleashed and defecating upon the property and toxic substances in the hallways. The rental of this property was everything but a home.
