I hired Rogers Roofing in July 2024 to fix a roof leak. Despite multiple repair attempts, the roof continued to leak, causing water damage to my walls and wood floors. Their final attempt in March 2025 failed, and during heavy rain in May, the leak remains. New siding they installed is also falling off. Their workmanship has caused significant damage and additional out-of-pocket expenses. Their poor workmanship left a gap that allowed mice to enter my home, causing a months-long infestation. I paid $600 for extermination and lost personal items. Another roofer later confirmed this entry point was due to Rogers Roofings faulty work. Despite the ongoing leak, structural issues, and documented damage caused by their poor workmanship, Rogers Roofing submitted the disputed remaining $700 invoice to collections through a third party, **********************. Sending this to collections is premature and unacceptable, given the unresolved dispute and ongoing harm. Their lack of professionalism, delays, and poor repairs have led to damages exceeding $5,000.

We were contracted to replace the siding and flashing along the west facing side of the dormer.  The area to be repaired was covered in sealants from previous repair attempts.  On 8/23/2024 we sent a repair crew out to remove the siding, replace the flashing along the wall, replace the shingles that are in contact with the siding, install new step flashing, and install new siding.  We were contacted on 9/18/2024 that there was still a leak, a repair crew was dispatched on 9/23/2024 to perform repairs.  On November 14, *********************************************** the area.  It was determined that the scope of work needed to be expanded.  Directly above the repaired area, additional repairs needed to be done to the dormer roof and fascia (the shingles on the dormer did not overhang far enough over the fascia, which was funneling water behind the siding) and the top of the dormer (the chimney flashing was deteriorating where it sealed to the brick and sealant had been previously applied to the entire area around the chimney flashing, pipe flashing, and bathroom exhaust vent).  A contract was signed by ***** **** to complete the additional repairs in the area.  The contract was cancelled for the additional repairs.  In good faith, we proceeded to send our repair crews out on 3/12/2024, 3/14/2024, and again on 4/3/2024 to try to rectify the leak through the original scope of work by reflashing the base of the dormer and removing and re-installing the siding multiple times.

No guarantees are offered on repair work to stop leaks.  As we are dealing with someone elses work, it is impossible to guarantee that nothing around or above the repairs are also leaking.  The amount of sealants applied to the area around the siding (as seen in the photos) show the repair attempts prior to our repairs.  The original scope of the contract was completed, the shingles were replaces, the wall was re-flashed, and the siding was replaced.

I will attach the photos of the additional fascia and dormer roof issues in a separate email.

We feel that we have gone above and beyond to try to stop leaks by completing the repairs multiple times regardless of the original bill being paid.

I am rejecting this response because:

Several statements are misleading or omit critical facts. I hired Rogers in July 2024 to fix an active roof leak, not for cosmetic siding. Their inspector said the leak was due to a tar patch and J-channel issue, and recommended replacing the front siding.??Work began in late August. Rogers brought the wrong siding color and tore off the existing siding anyway, leaving my home exposed for a week. Gaps in the Tyvek and around the gutter line caused a 3-month mice infestation, which an exterminator and another roofer tied to the workmanship. I paid $600 for extermination and lost personal items.??The siding failed within 2 weeks, it buckled and cracked, and the roof continued leaking. Rogers returned, acknowledged the issue, and reinstalled warped siding. The leak persisted through fall. In Nov 2024, while I was out of town, my partner contacted them. Rogers proposed additional repairs, but I did the homeowner did not approve the new contract due to ongoing concerns.??In MarchApril 2025, they returned again. After showing them video of the problem inside the wall, their project manager admitted an oversight in their work. He proceeded to tuck-point and silicone sealant was applied, but by May, the leak returned and siding began falling off again.??They also violated Illinois consumer law by failing to provide me the required Consumer Rights Acknowledgement Form (815 ILCS 513). This further undermines the contracts enforceability.??Their no guarantee stance does not excuse repeated failed repairs. I respectfully request Rogers:?Refund my $565 balance, waive the $700 balance and acknowledge responsibility for poor workmanship.

We have performed the repair per the scope of work in our initial agreement and have made several attempts above and beyond what was agreed on in the initial scope of work to satisfy the homeowner

Thank you for your concern about the flyer in your mailbox. We do not put anything in mailboxes, if you look at it closely (other side of flyer) you will notice it has a postmark on it and was sent through the US mail. We appreciate your concern and can be assured we did not go on your property.
