I had blood testing done back in Dec 2024. I didnt receive an invoice until 5 months later. I was totally dismayed when I saw the amount. The total bill was over $5000; my portion to pay after insurance was $1550. I paid $200 of my bill while waiting to talk with someone. Testing at a stand-alone lab cost me $232 for the EXACT same testing. I have attempted to talk with someone since I got the bill in early May 2025. My Chart just ***lied with an auto message to call a phone #. Every time I talked to someone via phone, they dismissed my concerns and questions and offered that I set up a payment plan. I asked to speak with a supervisor but it takes 2 weeks for a call back. If you miss the call, another 2 weeks. Now I have a Final Notice that I may be turned over to Collections. I would think my account would at least be put on hold until I have a resolution. I have done research and have valid concerns. I am not someone that doesnt pay my bills; my credit record is excellent. I am someone however that knows when they are being taken advantage of. I have been assured there was no mistake made in the billing. A ************** article from a few years ago found over-billing was not uncommon and Parkview is the MOST EXPENSIVE hospital in the ** but located in the LOWEST cost of living area. Parkview Health cannot be reached for comment of course. The reason of your insurance sets the rates which is what one of the customer service **** stated is a complete lie as I have talked to my employers insurance *** and did further research so as not to just take what someone says as truth. Insurance companies work with healthcare facilities to come to agreements for allowable and REASONABLE charges. However, Parkview refuses to negotiate with any of the insurance companies it deals with (unlike other healthcare facilities), leaving them no options. Parkview Health is the only one that does this. Unfortunately, there are no regulations to control their greed.
