      On June 27, 2025, I went online and purchased a lie detector test to determine its accuracy. I had been using this service on my partner for the past year, but I noticed that some of the results contradicted the statements made during the tests. To assess the reliability of the test for myself, I experimented and asked questions that I knew to be true, anticipating that it would flag me if I lied. One of the questions concerned alcohol use in the past two years. I indicated that I hadn't used alcohol, yet the test declared that I was telling the truth. You must understand how concerning this is; people are putting their faith in these tests, and they claim it's 80 percent reliable, which is a flat-out lie. I believe they are fooling the public and are scamming people out of hundreds of dollars, not to mention the emotional repercussions from this and the damage they can cause. I think this company needs to be investigated, and looked into.

      Dear BBB,

      Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This person also complained to us directly. His concern is understandable, but misinformed. We are very clear on our site that our product does not work in a "self" tested environment where there is no jeopardy in the answers. The technology requires that there be consequences to failing that are severe enough to engage mentally with the questions. The science behind the technology measures cognitive load that differs when we lie vs when we tell the truth. The problem with picking something we've done and then testing ourselves on it is that it often does not have any consequences, that is, no one cares if we pass or fail and so it elicits no response.

      I explained this carefully to him. I'm not sure if his complaint to you was done simultaneously with my explanation or if this indicates that he didn't believe my explanation. 

      Just to stress, this is not a problem with the product or the service. It's a problem of using the technology in a way that is not approved, which we clearly state.
