AutoCity **** performed Paint-less hail damage repair including windshield replacement that was covered by my insurance claim . They also did some additional (unrelated to the claim )body work . I picked the car up 9/26/21. I did inspect the bodywork and the windshield mainly noting if it was OEM part as requested. The car was driven approximately 10 miles to my home and has been garaged since . 10/19/21 I took the vehicle out of the garage to wash it and noticed that a piece of passenger side trim for the windshield was missing. I notified AutoCity that day and sent photos. They responded the 10/20/21 after speaking to their windshield installer, and they initially claimed that there was no molding on the passenger side, "no moulding was required or ordered " After they reviewed the pictures that I had provided , they then responded that the trim had been replaced and I quote "that moulding don't just fly off , it was on firmly, Someone or something had to physically remove that moulding " Later that day I was informed that the missing part was $36.60. 10/21/21 I inquired, if by providing me the price of the missing part were they implying that they were not responsible. I got no response. They had already been paid over $4000.00 dollars from my insurance company and $700.00 from me for the additional bodywork. 10/22/21 I stopped by the shop and spoke with the owner who reported that the trim was present when I took the car and too much time had expired.They would not replace the missing part. I notified my insurance company. They said since the shop is not in their network and because I had chosen them, they could offer no recourse. AutoCity initially claimed that there was no missing trim , then claimed they had installed it . If no new part was ordered , I suspect they installed the damaged original trim and it flew off or they simply did not replace it. Either way they should be responsible.
