I booked a trip with ****************** for my child and purchased the travel insurance. Unfortunately my child was unable to go on the trip so I contacted ********** and Seven Corners on May 27, ********************************************************************************** the first place. It has now been almost 12 weeks and I still have not heard anything from them. I have reached out and have been told at first 6-8 weeks which is a breach of contract on their 30 day decision as stated. I scraped to get my child to go on this trip as it was paid for during the pandemic when everyone was hit hard.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In the attached response it does note trip cancellations excludes mental or nervous conditions are excluded unless the party was hospitalized or partially during the plan coverage in which my child was. However Seven Corners never asked if there were any hospitalizations/ partial. My child was set up for this suspension. The school and myself received communications that my child did not do what caused her suspension however the school did not want to do anything to look into it further. If Seven corners requests hospitalization records any other information I will gladly provide it. Still they are in breach of contract for taking 84 days to respond.

Good day,
As noted in Seven Corners August 26, 2022 correspondence, ***************************** was suspended from school and the school would not allow her participation in the scheduled trip. A school suspension is not a covered reason under the Trip Cancellation coverage benefit and is therefore not an eligible cancellation reason under the travel insurance policy.
As noted in our August 26, 2022 response, Seven Corners was not been provided medical records which confirms that ***************************** was hospitalized or partially hospitalized for a mental or emotional condition while the travel plan coverage was in effect.
Further, the Physician's Statement section of the claim form was not completed by ********************************* physician and was left blank. In cases when travel cancellations result from medically-related reasons, the Physician's Statement must be completed by the treating physician, and is noted on the claim form.
In order to give the trip cancellation claim further evaluation during the policy eligibility period, please submit the medical records from ********************************* treating physician(s) which confirms the diagnosis that caused her travel cancellation; the date her symptoms first appeared; the date she was hospitalized or partially hospitalized for her mental or emotional condition and the date the physician prohibited her travel due to her medical condition.
Upon our receipt of this documentation, we will give the claim our immediate attention.

My son went on a trip to ********** in April(2-110 of this year. The trip was delayed a few days and we were told since we purchased the insurance that we could file a claim to get reimbursed for the missed days. The amount we were told was in the range of $650 to $700. The tour company was EF Tours and the trip insurance company was Seven Corners. I was told from the initial claim to settlement would be 91 days. Below is a timeline of my correspondence with the company.13 APR 2022-Initial phone call to EF Tours seeing reimbursement for lost days.14 APR 2022-Email response from EF Tours stating that I would have to file a claim 22 APR 2022-Initial claim submitted 29 APR 2022- Confirmation of claim received 28 APR ******************** Sent(I had to send every bank statement for every payment made which is ridiculous)5 MAY 2022-Confirmation of statements received 25 MAY 2022-Called and they have all documents. I bought travel ins from seven corners which had covid coverage. we got covid in the ****** is and were placed under quarantine by the ************* health ***** we could not fly back home for 2 weeks and had to pay for accommodations. our claims were denied because we were not put in the hospital. and was told other charges would not be covered under trip interruption. I feel they give false information and deny claims which should be covered under the information the give when you buy the policy.Business Response

Our daughter was scheduled to go on a Studies Abroad trip through college in March, 2022. Based on the Covid guidelines for the original scheduled trip, she met all requirements so we paid for her to go on the trip. The trip got changed to different destinations a few months prior to the scheduled date because of safety reasons. Nine days prior to departure, she was informed she could not go on the trip because the Covid guidelines for the new destination which required her to have a booster (which she did not have to have for the original trip) shot since her original vaccine was over 6 months. Each student was required to take out travel insurance with "Seven Corners" and we were given their information to file a claim for getting her trip money refunded. We submitted a claim on May 18, 2022. I received an email on June 6, 2022, that they were running behind on claims and it would approximately 57 days from submission date for the claim to be looked and processed. It has been almost three months and I have not heard anything from them so I called them. They now tell me it will be approximately 103 days before they will get to the claim. I am asking for assistance in getting this claim expedited and processed. They have had plenty of time to process. Our claim amount is $ ********. This is the amount we paid toward the trip that was cancelled.Business Response

Seven Corners is a travel insurance company that we had to purchase coverage for our daughter's studies abroad trip. We paid out $ ******** for this trip that a little over a week prior to departure, was cancelled as she was informed that she could not go due to Covid Vaccine restrictions. EF ******************** informed me that I had to file a claim with the travel insurance company Seven Corners to get a refund for the money we paid on her account for her trip. I do not understand nor agree that they don't sell plans to EF College Tours. There is a policy for my daughter's trip with Seven Corners. We are requesting a refund for the money that we paid. A ************* and Covid Vaccine Booster shot is a medical issue that prevented her from going and the policy covered medical.

Good day,
As noted in our August 19, 2022 response, Seven Corners, Inc., does not sell **** College Study Tours (AOS) plans or manage **** College Study Tours (AOS) scheduled trips. For clarification on the coverage benefits are included under the purchased travel plan, the consumer can contact the point of purchase/tour operator (**** College Study Tours) for further detail. Seven Corners provides claims administration services for **** College Study Tours (AOS) clients.
Records provided for our review indicated that *************************** was enrolled in the Urban Environments in ************** trip. To participate in the trip, she was required to be fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus. ****** was informed that she did not meet the tour vaccine requirement, as she had not received a COVID-19 booster shot and her participation in the trip was cancelled.
The **** College Study Tours (AOS) plan provides coverage benefits per named-peril(s). Unfortunately, the reason provided for cancellation is not a covered peril under the travel protection plan. In addition, the travel protection plan excludes Trip Cancellation coverage benefits when a trip is cancelled by the tour operator or school/travel entity.
In addition, a travel cancellation which results from the fear of possibly contracting COVID-19, even if reasonable and supported by a physicians note advising the insured party not to travel due to an underlying condition (or any other reason), would not be a covered reason under the travel protection plan.
We must adhere to the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of the **** College Study Tours (AOS) plan. The presented reason for cancellation is not a covered under the policy.

We paid for a travel insurance whether it was Seven Corners policy or an EF Tours policy. I still stand that due to the circumstances of the tour, misinformation regarding Covid vaccine requirements, and ******* trip being cancelled by EF Tours we are entitled to our money back that was paid in. It was paid to EF Tours but they tell me I had to file an insurance claim with Seven Corners to get a refund. One of the two should be refunding our money.

My daughter was supposed to go on a school trip through EF Tours in April 2022, but came down with COVID two days before departure therefore she couldn't go. I put in a claim for reimbursement 101 days ago and they have not reimbursed me yet. They say it is still in the review process.Business Response

I traveled to ******* in the Spring and purchased travel insurance from Seven Corners (Certificate number 10RTC21AOS132590) to protect myself from trip costs that would be generated in the event that I tested positive for Covid and could not return home as planned. This company is nearly impossible to reach unless one is trying to buy a policy and it has now been three months since I filed all the requested paperwork substantiating my claim. I would like your help.Business Response

I purchased a travel insurance plan from sevencorners for my honeymoon. On the trip, my wife and I's baggage was delayed, and we had to purchase some clothes and hygiene products for the the time that we were without our baggage. I filed a claim via email *********************************** to reimburse these expenses on June 9, the day after I got back from the honeymoon, and received a response on June 10 requesting that I fill out a claim form and provide supporting documents, which I completed and returned the same day. On June 17, I got an email saying that my documents had been received. I have been sending emails to request an update on my claim every couple weeks since then, and I haven't gotten any response back, as of today, August 8. I've attached all the supporting documents and the policy document.Business Response

On 4/15/22 I submitted a claim for an EF Tours trip to Seven Corners as the purchased and given insurance. I was initially given a 79 day turnaround for the claim. I have emailed for status updates and only receive a generic response --- each time telling me that the wait time was longer. At the final wait until was 102 days, I had to wait that time to escalate - so I did. I was given a week and heard nothing. I had to call back again today and escalate again. Each time talking with a member of the their team, I just get told that the wait until is longer and longer - just moving out the goal post and against my initial quote. I have $1k pending with this claim that cannot wait any longer.Business Response
