We bought the 2006 Santa Fe on February 21, 2022 for $3,900. Car was advertised as exceptional 2006 ******* Santa Fe, Ready for a new owner as it sits, great gas mileage *****, The brakes, rotors, and tires are all in good shape, and do not need replaced, this vehicle is not perfect, has a few minor issues. When we contacted them about the car we were told the following: Hey the Santa Fe were actually taking it to the mechanic. We saw its leaking coolant so were going to get that situated., we did a little more investigating so its fine we guess lol, It has an exhaust leak thats really it. And yeah we checked it out and all. Someone earlier mustve just spilt some coolant by it Had they been honest with us about the coolant leak we wouldnt have driven down to look at the car.With the agreement that the muffler would only need a repair, that coolant wasnt leaking, and brakes were good we bought the car that evening as is--unwilling to negotiate price per no major issues w/ car. We took the car in March 1, 2022 to the repair shop which found: Cooling System Leak - Water pump is leaking, the radiator hose are leaking on engine side, and the sealing ridge inside the radiator has eroded and is not letting the radiator cap to seal properly. Replacement cost $874.11. The water pump is timing belt driven. Timing belt kit with water pump replacement cost $1,851.45 Fuel smell and wet area on fuel tank. Possible leaking tank.Inspect exhaust system-muffler rusting out and needs to be replaced. {Was told the Fuel tank would first need to be inspected ($445.63) and possible replaced ($500-$1500) before they would be able to replace the muffler due to welding concerns} Rear rotors are *****. Rear brakes are dragging. Due to the agreement that the verbal muffler would only need a repair job and that there were only minor issues we contacted the dealership which responded for a short time then we tried following up the next day but never heard back.
