I purchased an Omega 14 Turbocharger system for an R35 GTR from AMS performance on December 1, 2021 for $9,031. I received delivery of the system on January 19, 2022 and was installed on my car by on March 10, 2022 at a cost of $2,000. On March 17, 2022 my car was being tuned for the Omega 14 turbocharger system at Applewood Performance shop when the defect on the Omega 14 turbo system was discovered. The first problem was at wastegate setting on an 18 PSI spring, the boost crept up to 24 PSI. The second problem was that at full solenoid duty cycle, the turbo system can only boost up to 29 PSI, when normally expected to boost up to 40 + PSI. These turbocharger system is advertised to "reduce boost creep" and generate around **** WHP per AMS website: https://www.amsperformance.com/product/ams-performance-omega-14-r35-gtr-turbo-kit/. At only 29 PSI, it is impossible to generate anywhere close t0 **** WHP on this car as it would require boosting the turbo pressure up to around 40 PSI, which is normally achievable with a fully functional, normal 3 port boost control system which my car has. The matter was brought to the attention of AMS via a phone call on March 17th to which they advised that an email be sent to document the issue. The email (attached) was sent March 18th. AMS did not respond until I made a follow up call on March 25th. *******************, **************** Manager, apologized to me and assured me he would address the matter with the "Tuning team". On March 28 AMS suggested using a "Boost Pill" an extraordinary solution which will not correct the boost creep issue. I stated I was not interested in extraordinary solutions but want to know the why the turbochargers are not working correctly which they do not address. AMS stated they only saw 17 PSI of boost pressure on wastegate setting on an 18 PSI spring in their tests, confirming the 25 PSI boost creep was excessive. AMS stopped responding on MAR 30th even after follow up emails to ******, AMS owner.
