    1/7/23 signed agreement for window film installation 1/9 pd via check 1/11 recv'd call from vendor, installation scheduled for 1/18 1/16 sent email cancelling service; vendor responded will see if film ordered 1/19 vendor refused cancel order b/c film had been ordered 1/19 offered to pay for film and requested refund for difference and requested cost of film. 1/19 vendor refused to disclose costs, offered refund for half of total paid. 1/20 filed complaint with City of Chicago and Attorney General's Office.Vendor claims because we did not cancel w/in 3 days no refund required despite no work being done. We explained no knowledge or notice of 3 day cancellation policy, no work done, thus, vendor cannot receive a financial windfall for doing no work. At most, we agree payment to vendor for cost of film is appropriate. We are entitled to $2,150 paid less film cost b/c if 3 day notice is applicable then vendor has legal obligation to tell us in writing or orally prior to signing the agreement. Law not intended as tool for vendors to be shady by requesting full payment for service in advance of work, hiding cancellation rules and then refuse refund despite not rendering any service. We are renters. My husband is a teacher. I am currently w/out an income. We moved to Chicago and this apt Dec 9, 2022. We cannot afford this service with the high costs of food, gas, etc and no help from landlord. ******** stated he cannot share cost for film installation (he has 2 young girls). Despite our best intentions and desires we cannot afford Budget Blinds service; thus, we cancelled before any work was started. We deserve a full refund less cost of film. Budget Blinds can possibly even keep the film and use for another client. Please help us get our limited and hard earned money back from Budget Blinds. Thank you.PS: complaint filed w/corporate who called & surprised at refund refusal b/c No Work Done. Corporate sent to Regional. Awaiting responses all 3 filed complaints

    Absolutely the worst experience in human history. There were a number of problems with this simple order placed in June, 2021. First, the sales person replicated the same RS number for all ********************** although he was told another fabric had been selected for the bedroom. *****, the owner, texted me on a Saturday asking to install ********************** on Monday. By Monday morning she had been informed that a third of the shipment was missing, but made no attempt to reach out to me and ask if I wanted to proceed with the installation. The installer (an independent contractor) informed me that ********************** was aware, but had deliberately chosen not to inform me. Apparently this was a common part of their business practice. Inattention to detail; indifference and extreme unprofessionalism are the principal characteristics of this franchise.Please do yourselves a favor and avoid the ugliness and turmoil that I am experiencing; find another franchise or vendor. I paid a significant amount of money and now I am in an epic battle to have them fulfill their professional obligations. I am at the ********************** of speaking with my attorney

    Over 10 years in business and not one complaint - so take one with a grain of salt. ****** did not like the fabric he chose when it was being installed, so he tried posting bad reviews everywhere trying to get us to switch his shades for free. We are a small business and can not do that. They are a custom product. This install was at the height of all the turmoil of COVID and all our shipping companies not having enough staff, so one box was missing. However, ***** found the box and we installed it all quickly after we received it. One shade had an issue and we quickly fixed it the next day. Not sure why some customers think that by slandering a company online, that company will bend over and lose money to correct their mistakes. Luckily we do not run across many vindictive customers. We service over 100 customers a month and have done so for the past 10 years. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service, even when we are still missing 2 out of our 3 office staff right now because no one wants to work and stay on unemployment.
