We had a issue with water damage that we realized at the end of August 2022. I turned it in to my insurance Company ********* Insurance and received a payment. In September, we hired **** ***** from Troy Built Inc or LLC Troy Boy Construction. He came to look at the damage and realized there was more to the damage then the first payout. We needed new flooring and mold removal. He ordered flooring in December and put in a supplement to our insurance on 1/17/23. He started tearing out the island, flooring and moved the cabinets to start on the mold. He replaced the subflooring and it was put down wrong and he had to pull it up and put it down again Once he started the flooring he did not order enough and we had to wait an additional 6 weeks. He put down the additional flooring in March and the door frames have a 1/4 to 1/2 gap to the floor. He wanted to just hammer down the door frames. I told him that was unacceptable and he needed to pull up the flooring and correct the subflooring. He said it was not his responsibility. We have been with a gutted kitchen since January. While waiting on the flooring I asked him to start putting back our kitchen. He said I owed him more money. I told him his guys hadn't even been at our house for two months. He was/is holding the project over our heads. The floors are a mess and not completed. I asked him for the end caps and door jams and he said he would give them to me when I pay him. ****** ******* called him to ask him to give them to me, he had picked them up in January and he said he didn't know where they were. I fired him and had to hire a new contractor and having to pay out of my pocket for things Troy received already from our insurance. I have paid Troy $15,000 and he says we still owe him around $12,000. I have lots of pictures and videos to show what a terrible predicament we are in. Also, my brother is 72, I am 62, and my sister is 63. We are having to eat out all the time which is very expensive!
