Scammed customer here. They've successfully stolen 1 starting payment of $395 and 3 payments of $166.55 so far. I'm currently trying to cancel from their program, but they have yet to set me free. Their official looking letter deceived me with words like 'home warranty for your home is expiring'. I thought they were my home warranty when I signed up for them, not realizing they were a different one. I called trying to cancel, but I was hushed like a dog and transferred around. The employee's tone is demeaning and predatory, talking over you when they don't like what you are saying. I would like a refund and cancellation if possible. I fell for the scam. Is there some way for me to get my money back, or am I out of luck?Protection Direct Response

We have received the review submitted by Ms. ****** Manuta against Protection Direct and have conducted a thorough investigation of this matter. We would like to subsequently present the following information in response to Ms. ******* review. A review of our records indicated that **************** contacted on our office on November 21, 2023 regarding coverage for her primary residence. Upon thoroughly reviewing the coverage options and conditions, **************** subsequently elected to enroll her residence in our home protection program. Per the terms of the sale **************** agreed to make an initial down payment to initiate coverage followed by eighteen (18) monthly installments, in return for three (3) years of coverage for her residence. Likewise, as a standard provision of the contract, **************** was provided with a thirty (30) day review period during which time she could cancel the coverage and receive a full refund. Likewise, **************** was advised that any cancellations occurring past the review period would be eligible for a pro-rata refund in accordance with the contract terms and conditions. Our records indicated that **************** contacted our office on February 28, 2024, requesting the cancellation of her contract. **************** was provided with instructions on how to submit a formal request for cancellation and refund in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract language. **************** indicated that a monthly payment was recently deducted from her account, and she wished to have it reversed. According to our records, the payment is question was subsequently refunded on February 29, 2024. As of March 14, 2024, we have yet to receive any formal request of cancellation from ****************. However, in an effort to expedite the resolution of this matter, we will accept Ms. ******* review with your office as her official request for cancellation of her contract. We have subsequently calculated the pro-rata refund due on Ms. ******* account and have mailed a check in the amount of $367.78 to her home address on file. In closing, we would like to apologize to **************** for any issues she may have had with our organization. In consideration of the foregoing, we will consider this matter to be resolved.Sincerely,************************* Customer ********************** Manager **********************Review from Christopher E

They sent a letter to my senior mother using scare tactics. Telling her she need to pay. When I got home and asked her what is this $195.00 for 3 years meant? So we called back to cancel and this lady argued with us over and over. I'm like we just want to cancel. I already told her we went to the bank to stop the payment. It makes me sick that they target older people. I told her I seen these complaints on the bbb and she was like "oh no we have a good rating and we have been in business for 20 years". Yeah maybe scamming people.Review from Danielle M

Just in case anything else breaks down which seems to be happening since the beginning of this year. Thank you ***** for all your help. Thank you protection Direct too.Review from Rainett c

I bought into this warranty company last oct with thinking they were going to be a great company to work with, however I was lied to. My truck broke down in January after going to a funeral, I had it towed and takin to the shop in Jan 2022. It is now March 2nd 2023 and I still don't have my vehicle back and thats just the start of my frustration. The miles on my truck and contract at the time of purchase was ******* and now I'm over ******* mile. Their contract states 30 days and **** miles before the warranty kicks in. I met this warranties contract and my truck should be covered ****%. They came back with my truck had more miles beginning the contract because of a typo mistake on their end not mine. I provided proof and we are past that, I then was told they would cover the repair but only would pay $1900 minus my $100 deductible which is only $1800 that they would be covering, leaving me paying $2400 which i paid my part to the shop and im still waiting on protection direct to pay their little amount of $1800. But again now we are back to them trying to not pay it. This is frustrating and getting ridiculous i want my truck back and them to pay their part as I have been promised even after I showed proof of my contract and miles on our contract. Seriously fix my truck so I can have it back. This has been extremely frustrating for me. I have had no vehicle for over a month going on two months with 6 kids and still I wait. When are they going to do the right thing???? I would give a zero star if I could.Protection Direct Response

We have received ********************** review of our organization. We have conducted a thorough investigation of the referenced matter and have subsequently provided the following information for your review.First and foremost, we feel it is important to note that we are solely a seller of service contracts and play no role in the adjudication or outcome of submitted claims. Said roles are handled at the sole discretion of the contract administrator in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract language. Our records indicated that ******************** purchased coverage for her 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe on October 22, 2022. At the time of purchase, the mileage reported on the vehicle was *******. As a standard provision of the contract, the vehicle must endure a thirty (30) day and one thousand (*****) mile validation period during which time no claims or failures to the vehicle would be covered by the contract.According to the contract administrator a claim was called in on ********************** account by ***** in *******, ** on January 17, 2023. At the time the claim was submitted the vehicles mileage was reported as ******* miles. ***** on the reported start mileage, the vehicle had only travelled 359 miles since the inception of the contract. ************ ********************** claim was initially denied as a result of the vehicle still being within the validation period. It was subsequently determined that the start mileage on the contract was incorrect, and the actual start mileage should have been ******* miles. ************ this put the vehicle outside the contract validation period. Upon correction of the mileage, ********************** claim was processed in accordance with the administrators claims adjudication procedure. According to the administrator, ********************** claim was approved for the repair limit of $1,900.00 on March 2, 2023.In closing, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or delay ******************** has encountered in submitting her repair claim. However, according to our investigation, it appears that ********************** claim was processed and approved in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract language.Furthermore, the ***** center performing the work to ********************** vehicle is a preferred fleet provider for the administrator, which is paid through a centralized billing process. ************ once the work was approved on March 2, 2023, the vehicle was eligible to be released back to the customer upon completion of the repairs. ***** on our review of this matter, we are considering this matter closed as resolved.Review from Karen S P
