    I drove four hours from ******************* Charles to buy a car Id been eyeing for years. I worked with ****** as my Sales Specialist. While friendly, she spoke incredibly fast and was overly energetic, to the point that I joked Id need everything in writing just to keep up. She told me certain things were included in the pricelike undercoatingeven though she knew I lived out of state and couldnt easily return for it.Once I got to the finance office, things went downhill. The finance manager, ***, pushed a warranty. When I declined, he asked sarcastically, Do you not think you'll need maintenance in the next 7 years? I reiterated that I only wanted to pay the agreed-upon pricenothing extra.Three weeks later, I received a letter from Honda Financial showing my loan amount was several thousand dollars more than expected. I called ******, who insisted they were transparent and dont do that, then passed me off to their finance director, ****. Only then did I learn theyd slipped in over $3,200 in add-ons: a $500 key warranty, a $699 undercoating (which I was told was included), and a $2,000 vehicle warrantyall without my consent. Despite clearly declining all add-ons during the process, they added them anyway.Had I not reviewed the documents from Honda Financial, I would have been stuck paying for products I never agreed to (or even know I purchased!). This experience felt deceptive and dishonest. I strongly recommend avoiding this dealership. Transparency matters and unfortunately, I didnt find it here.

    I went in for a 9:00pm oil change and they did a multi point inspection and found something broken on one of the tire pressure valves. It was not this way before I came, to my knowledge, and the only people that have serviced my tires/oil change etc have been with McGrath St Charles. On the way back home, this light went off saying TPMS. This was not an issue at all before I came in for the oil change and now I'm having this light going off and a broken part that was probably accidentally broken off by someone in the service department. Now the desk *** told me this evening that he would get cost repair info tomorrow and talk to one of the managers for the broken valve thingy, but I let him know that either we bought the car this way (and no one disclosed this, it was used Honda Odyssey 2020 that we bought in 2023), or the part was broken off during a service visit and replaced without my knowledge. Either way, I would like to see McGrath deal with this and fix this issue as we need this car ASAP without the warning lights going off. I mean, for crying out loud, all I wanted was an oil change! It seems there is always some issue I'm having when I go to get service done at McGrath, and I'm getting sick of this. I can't believe that the service people messed my car up tonight and that this thing went off on the way home. I had my son with me in the van, and the last thing I want is my van malfunctioning with my family in it.

    I would not recommend buying a Honda True Certified Car from Honda of St. Charles. I bought my True Certified 2021 Honda Pilot on 11/21/2024. Once I brought home the car I found out quick it had many issues that should have been fixed during the certification process.1. Passenger side back break light lose. (still lose)2. Dent in the truck( only fixed because I bought extra protection warranty)3. automatic started did not work all the time.4. clip on window shade broken( I paid $12.00 for a new clip)5. Moon roof really noise when you open and close it.6. Bubbling on two front doors that seem to get worse when the weather changes from hot to cold.I have been driving Honda's for 20 years and when I have at a certified car in the past just at long as you take it back within the first year the Honda dealership will fix it. I brought the car back within 6 months of buying it in May 2025 and ******* the services guy and the services manager acted like I broke all of these things and they where no covered under the warranty. The reason why it took 6 months was I live in ********** 45 minutes away from the dealership. Once I got my car serviced they fixed things minimal like the break light that is still lose or the dent that was fixed only because I bought the extra interior and exterior protection. I just feel that you get charged extra to get the car Honda True Certified you should be able to get the basic things fixed during the warranty time frame. I fear that I caught this many things myself, what else did they not fix, that I will have to fix out of pocket in the future.

    Very bad service experience on 07/07/24. ** who is a service manager made me jump through hoops to use valid coupon for an oil change and damaged my car mirror, but hasn't fixed it because "one of our cameras is broken and we can't verify you didn't hit something pulling into the garage". I won't be buying anymore vehicles from this business. ** also lied about various things he said to me. No thank you. I will take my business to another dealer.

    Dealership has no honor whatsoever...Sleazy sales manager ***** knew of an existing issue at the time of sale of my vehicle and decided to dishonor the promise to resolve the issue noted, again, at the time of sale.Granted life happens and I was unable to come to into the dealership before the termination of the ** term, but just goes to show customer service is all show and no go...In fact I told them I drove all the way from ******* to get this fix done but they didn't care or wink an eye to help me out when I needed them.They don't care about your business relationship. Even the managers there made no attempt to manage the situation and I was just shown the door...If you expect great service, don't forget... there's plenty of options outside of McGrath...

    Please do not go here to save yourselves a nightmare! "Purchased" the vehicle on July 28. Came back Monday, July 31st.My first payment is Due Aug./30. Yesterday I found out they have not funded my old loan and that I am now being reported for a late payment on my old loan. No one took the time to tell me that the process could take this long and to make my payment for now to my old loan, from previous experiences, this normally does not take this long to process. They were so busy trying to shove down my throat the premium packages that they offer BUT did not take the time to go over my loan or anything that was most important to ME.

    Worst car buying experience i had ever had. The only thing good about it was the sales rep and that is it. I wanted to purchase 2 civics the day we went in. 1 was a hatchback and the other was an **, once we got to choosing what trim we wanted and so forth i was very upfront about not wanting any dealer add On's for the *** Well they started paperwork for the hatchback and once credit score was checked and primary paperwork was signed they told me that the ** trim has to have a 3-4,000 dollar dealer add on. So i had to back off the ** trim since i didn't want any add on's and was about to pull out of the hatchback but since the paperwork for it was already started i couldn't do much of anything at that point. When we went to pick up the car from delivery we signed all the paperwork and was approved for 72 months of payments. Well turns out that over the passing weeks of having the vehicle "Honda Finance" decided to drop us from 72 months to 60 months over night. Overall horrible experience and i will be not recommending this place to anyone within an ear shot.

    Would highly recommend avoiding this dealership! Im not sure how I wound up buying a car from here. I went to look at a Honda odyssey and found one on the lot I liked. I checked the price online and confirmed. I had received an online cash offer for my trade in for $29,000 which they refused to match. They came back and said it was only worth $23,000. I shouldve walked there but stupidly I didnt. Then the financial guy never showed me the price of the car itself but rather what my overall loan was. He swiped through the iPad super fast so I never saw the actual charges but at this point it was 9:30 at night and we were exhausted from being held all day for negotiations. He held my contract until the next day when I could bring the check for my down payment. When I finally looked at it the charge for the car was $4,000 above advertised! For a used car! They had kept negotiating monthly payment vs cost of car. I was never given the Carfax so I look back and it was in an accident! Im so beyond frustrated and remorseful on this purchase Ive literally cried daily for two weeks. I have reached our to the sales and finance guy with no response. My next step is to file a complaint with the attorney general and seek legal action for their deceptive practices.

    Can I give it -2 Stars?This must be the worst vehicle ************ in the county, if not the whole state. Everything they touched or did, they did incorrectly.1) Coolant issue, initial complaint - handled incorrectly.2) Tire pressure - Marked as set to32# on paperwork , supposed to be 35#, but they filled to 39#.3) Stated washer fluid low - was filled 3 days ago.4) Told them not to wash the vehicle (**********) - washed the vehicle.I think this dealership spends too much time and thinking about up-selling service work, while they need to concentrate on actually performing proper quality service to vehicles.====Poor recording keeping at this dealership. Had recall work completed and then they notify me again a month later for same recall (using a fake person bot to make it worse).
