On 9-16-2024 while I was out of town my exhaust pipe and gasket had to be replaced along with my oxygen sensors. I was given a price of 1699 to fix. Since I was out of town and had no other option I proceeded and the car started having issues on the highway home. So I took it to Midas in *************, and upon the inspection, they discovered the convertor was no good and needed to be replaced. Now I understand things happen with cars once you fix something then another thing will go bad, but the service tech quoted me $2800 to replace the new converter. This was not what I was expecting, so I went to my mechanic, who did the work for $400 and made me aware that I overpaid for the job done in St Charles Midas. Now the replaced gasket is malfunctioning, so this wasn't a good job. I'd like to request and reduction on the 1699 bill. I opened a Midas account and I felt like my credit limit would have been used all up and still not able to fix the car. I'm requesting a $600 reversal on my Midas card. if not I'll have to use my media/advertising company (*******************************) and promote/share via social media about your poor business practices.

This customer arrived at our location with the exhaust completely broken. We had to build a new front pipe for this vehicle and both of the oxygen we're also seized. We have already spoken to this customer about this issue and the work that was completed. We also spoke to the other Midas location and they confirmed that all the work we performed was done correctly. That Midas quoted him a full converter and pipe assembly which is far more expensive that the temporary weld in converter that his local shop installed. when a vehicle arrives at our shop with a completely broken exhaust system we have to fix what we can see and cannot predict future issues. He arrived with a broken exhaust nothing was ever said about a faulty convertor. The vehicle left our location running fine and the exhaust has zero issues. While it is unfortunate that he developed a convertor issue is was not something that we serviced or repaired.

I am rejecting this response because: They did not  build a new front pipe for this vehicle and both of the oxygen. They put a simple flex pipe on and gaskets.. the gaskets are leaking as well. This is basically and overpriced job and just becuase they dont honor my auto shop doesnt mean im incorrect. This auto shop has been in business for 30 years and there is always ex midas customers coming in getting work done because they over price and dont fininsh the job. At the end of the day i was ripped of and would like a partial refund, or ill just go to socal media and news, as i am a email marketer and its gonna get around about how the intent to over price for things that they should not. Its clear as day on my proof of receipts that the work was not done right, even if we skipp the converter the gaskets seals are leaking ,and again they had the abiltly to offer me a flex pipe replacement not what they claim they did because my auto shop is a witness that the work was not needed at this capacity. So if we can settle on a partial refund ill pay the rest of my card off and move on. But if they dont want to come to an agreement then its no problem to go to the social media and news. People are tired of being ripped of by auto shops like Midas.

    Sincerely,
