• Advertising Review:

  BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising. These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges. BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers clearer to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements. 

  On 2/24/2025, BBB contacted TR Miller Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical regarding their website, social media, and billboard ads. The BBB requested they discontinue their advertisement to meet BBB Code of Advertising. The BBB previously conducted an ad review on the same promotion that was ran on 3/21/2024, in which the business discontinued on 4/23/2025. 

  The business advertised the following on their website, Facebook page, and billboards: 

  • “Buy One Get One Free Special Offer”
    “FREE MATCHING A/C WITH PURCHASE OF A FURNACE”
    “Buy A Furnace, Get A FREE A/C”
    “Get a free A/C when you buy a furnace, only pay for the installation!”
    “When you purchase a furnace from Feb 17th to April 13th, you’ll receive a matching AC unit for free”

  • BBB Code of Advertising states (in part):

  • 14.3 In a negotiated sale, no “free” offer of a product or service should be made where it would likely mislead consumers, such as where:
    14.3.1 The product or service to be purchased usually is sold at a price arrived through bargaining, rather than at a regular fixed price
    
    

  As of 4/21/2025, business has discontinued these offers on all of their advertisements. Due to the repeated advertising challenge by the BBB on the same promotion within the last 36 months, it is impacting the business' current BBB rating.
