Since I was 13, (I am now 20) I have been going to planned parenthood and getting birth control. It has always gone through my insurance and I’ve never had to pay anything.
Starting in April of this year I received an email saying I owe a bill that was $120 from them. I was clearly confused because I’ve never had to do so. I contacted my insurance and pharmacist because I pick up my birth control at my pharmacy now due to what happened at the Peoria Planned Parenthood. Both of them said that everything goes through my insurance and that they aren’t the reason I’m being charged.
I’ve gotten the same email saying I owe $120 on May 12, July 3, and August 4. I call every time to see if I can get ahold of someone and they send me to a billing line every time and no one ever calls me back. I have seriously called 30 times.
I called today (8/08) and the lady acted like she couldn’t hear me on the phone and hung up.
Im very frustrated because I’m wanting to in the future start to build a credit score so I can eventually buy myself a car. I don’t think it’s fair that this could potentially ruin my credit score when I have repeatedly tried to solve this problem on my own.
When the lady hung up she did tell me to “call back” but the number I called back said that that number was unavailable at the time.
I will not pay a bill that I don’t know why I would be paying, and that they can’t give me a reason why I should be paying it.
