Necklace purchased Nov 17, 2023 in store at address provided. Original cost was $899.99, plus taxes, less 20% off, less $20 for purchase in store rather than online. I was in the store when the necklace was ordered online by ***, Manager. On Nov 21, *** contacted me that necklace was available to be picked up from the store. On Nov 22, I picked up necklace late afternoon. Upon picking up the necklace, *** cut tag off the necklace, put in a box, then wrapped it in a bag from Michael Hill. The tag being cut off is important as the return policy refers to this. *** cut the tag off, not myself. I wasn't aware that this was important, therefore didn't give it much thought that he was doing this at that time.On Nov 24 the necklace price was reduced to 30% off as part of Black Friday sale. I sent email to *** advising I would come into the store next day for price adjustment. No response from *** to my email. The following day, Nov 25, just 3 days after I picked ** necklace in the store, I went to get price adjustment. *** agreed to price adjustment, however advised that it would not be money back to my credit card; it would be a store credit. I responded that it would be best for me to return the necklace and repurchase it, as I didn't want store credit. When I told the *** that I would return the necklace, he then said that they don't return used or worn jewellery. I told *** that I showed the necklace to my daughter last night, she tried it on, then it was put back in box. *** responded that it would be considered worn with it being tried on.These are initial notes to what has transpired in the store. I have attempted resolve with Michael Hill's online contact with no resolution in my favour. Michael Hill is of the opinion that the necklace has been worn, no matter how brief, and will not refund. I'm willing to share copies of emails between myself and Michael Hill's online contact.Necklace is in the box and store bag, still not worn, waiting for resolve.
