I was referred to Orland Dental Specialist. I was charged before any work was done, and Doctor **** ******, Referring Specialist, finished devitalizing the tooth. Dr. ****** billed for work not done upon arrival on 12/05/2024, $520.00 for a CT scan/Panorex, and an Incomplete Endo Therapy Inoperable. On 12/11/2025, Dr. ****** drilled some more and sent me for a complimentary CT scan/Panorex, she had me to return after the Holidays on January 2, 2025. She accused me of eating on that side of my mouth and that my tooth was fractured. (To date, my mouth is sitting open with no filling). She stated, I will document that the tooth was necrotic, and apply a credit towards seeing our surgeon. After seeing my letter from CareCredit, the ****** commented on how much money CareCredit had allowed for dental work. Dr. ****** immediately wanted to have one of their oral surgeons extract the tooth and begin procedures for an implant, but then she found out that I had an HMO. The money was refunded to Delta Dental (Orland Dental Specialist) secondary to my complaint; however, nothing was refunded to me by either Dentist. I want a refund for damage to my mouth and for devitalizing my teeth.

February 2024 to date, I was overcharged for two implants. I do not speak English well and paid many of my transactions with cash. The receipts will show. I talk to friends and family and they are shocked at the price. I did not know. I am 85 and borrowed money from my granddaughter on her credit card. I thought it would be the most $5,000.00 but they kept telling me to pay more. My neighbor and social worker says it is $2000.00 for one implant. Total I am charged $7,785.00 for two implants. My ******** coverage paid $1,200.00. I do not want just to write review. This is robbery of seniors. I will also alert the local newspaper.

Patient was fully aware of cost involved with her procedure.  Signed consents for all procedures are attached along with signed treatment plans showing the fees..  We did receive a payment from patient's insurance which she was refunded that portion back.  See patient ledger on 4/24/24 and attached refund receipt.  Patient entered into this transaction fully aware of what was involved.

My wife and I made and appointment to see the dentist, concerning some dental work we where going to possibly have done their. When we called to set up the appointment the Laidy didn't say anything about a consolation fee. Even when we got their all they said was what insurance did we have. Nothing about a consolation fee. After we left there we got a bill in the mail for ****** I called and asked what it was for. The Laidy said it was for the consolation fee. I told her no-one told us about a consolation fee. At that point she said we don't work for free. And then she (the manager) said it was our job to ask how much the consolation fee was. Not there's. I told them that was the most outrageous thing I have ever heard. all the other places we went to, two where free and two told us they were gong to try and submit the consolation fee to our insurance co. My wife and I are hard working American people trying to make a living with three kids In today's economy. We feel they have deceptive practices. And are taking advantage of hard working American people. bottom line is they never said anything about a consolation fee, even when we there no signs on the counter that said consolation fees. I told the Laidy a month ago why Im not paying this bill because you never told us we were being charged for the consolation. According to Orland Park Dental Specialists we should have known there is nothing for free. not one time did they say sorry about the over sight. And try and work something out. All they keep saying is it's our fault for not asking and assuming it's for free. I CANT BELIVE THIS DAY AND AGE A COMPANY WOULD BLAME A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER THATS CONSIDERING SPENDING OVER 10K FOR NOT ASKING IF THERE IS A FEE TO BE SEEN. I work with an auto body shop and we tell everyone what the fees are if any up front. Before we look at their vehicle. All I want is for them to stop sending me bills for the Consolation fee they never told me about!

Patient was seen for a consultation and Xray at a specialty office.    As courtesy we do not collect at consultation appointments, we submit to patients' insurance, which was provided by the patient to the office. The insurance plan that the patient has did not offer coverage for this code.    As an additional courtesy, we wrote off the Xray that was taken at same appointment.  At no time do we advertise as being a free clinic for dental work.   We offered to have the consultation charge be credited toward any future work with the office.  Patient had a comprehensive examination along with being provided a treatment plan for any recommended **************.

I am rejecting this response because:  At no point did you tell us that there was a consultation fee.,  you also continue to hide behind the fact that you believe that you guys don't work for free. that has nothing to do with what we are talking about.   and the only reason you are saying that is because you didn't inform us that there was going to be a consultation  fee.  and now you want everyone to know that you guys don't work for free.     they asked for our insurance information because they were going to check to see of they could get some of the dental work covered. Again they said nothing about  consultation fee.  Also you said they gave us free Xrays. that's  not true. We had 3d copy made of our dental work we wanted to have done.  The doctor said he wanted to take additional **rays we told him if he did it was on him. because we had two sets of **rays that he should have no problem looking at. The doctor said no problem he was going to have them done at no charge.  this would be much easier if you guys got your story straight.  Also you guy tried to push the **rays through to our insurance ( EVEN THOUGHT THE DOCTOR SAID IT WAS ON HIM) and it was rejected and you billed us for it. (I call that deceptive practices) I had to call your office and talk to 2 people to get that straightened out.  Bottom line is if we went in front of a judge and he asked you did you  informed the client that there was a fee for consultation before seeing the dentist.  Of course your answer would be no.  The case would be dismissed.  All I'm looking for is an apology for wasting my time.  And accept the fact that you are trying to bill be for something you have no right to bill me for   and stop sending me bills.  If I have to I will take this to the Attorney general because of deceptive practices. I will also contact the American Dental Association and inform them of your deceptive practices. My wife and I will not be bullied by you guys,  or taken advantage of.   I will take this as far as I need to.  Again we Wont be Bulled by you guys.

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:  Again you use the word Courtesy,  Im not *** why.  You mean it's a **urtesy not to tell a possible in**ming client that the charges for the visit are?  and that you will bill the insurance ** but there is a possibility it won't be **vered, at that point you will be billed.  And some how you think this is your version of  **urtesy.  A Courtesy would be to tell someone up front what the charges would be and that you will try and get **vered by insurance so you don't have to pay.  and worst case they would have to pay.  THATS CALLED COURTESY!

Also you keep mentioning that you **mped us for the the **rays.  that is still a lie,  in fact it's in our paperwork that the **rays were being done at no charge per the dentist.  We spent a lot of money on a 3-D **Ray and we had other **rays with us for the dentist to see.  He insisted on doing his own **Rays,  and before he did my wife and I told him not to do it if we were going to be billed for them.  The Dentist said he insisted on it, and there would be no charge. how is that being **mped, we didn't want in the first place!  But your billing department fraudulently billed our insurance ** with out us knowing and they knew it wasn't suppose to be billed,  because is says it on the paper work.  per the Dentist.  I will also be filling a formal **mplaint with our Insurance **, Because of your fraudulent billing practices.  We won't be Bullied by you guys! I don't understand you messed up and didn't inform us that there was a **nsolation fee.  There is nothing else to talk about!

     THATS IT THATS ALL!

    Sincerely,

I had my wisdom teeth removed by ********************************* at Orland Park Dental Specialists on April 9th 2021. I recently ( 10/06/2022)was referred to an endontist for root canal on tooth number 18. The endontist, *******************************, did a CBT xray on me. On the xray it showed that there was a loss of bone on the distal part of tooth number 18, and he told me it was shaved off when my wisdom teeth were removed. My dentist ************, is not able to restore the tooth and now I have to see a peridontist to have the tooth extracted and replaced. ****************** did not tell me or my husband who was present, that there were any complications during the wisdom teeth removal procedure. I would like the $475.00 dollars I paid for the procedure back, or the cost of the periodontal treatment covered.

I have been owed $859.50 since June 2022. They acknowledge that I am owed this refund. They refuse or have failed to issue me a refund. They have claimed to have sent me a check; upon follow up they admit they never did send a check. They promise to send it , and then fail to do so over and over.
