    Recently we noticed our crown molding in our living room was damp. We called a contractor who diagnosed this issue and informed us that whoever did our roof, was negligent. "They left a mess up there" and instead of replacing flashing, tried to fill in where flashing is supposed to be with silicone. This roof has been slowly leaking for six years because of the shoddy work. Our living room wall, when opened up is completely rotted . It is $8,000 of damage. I have since had several other estimates and have been told over and over, this is the result of the roofers poor workmanship. Thank goodness we finally discovered it. ****** the owner admitted he did not replace the flashing because insurance did not cover it. However, he refuses to acknowledge that he did not put back the flashing that was there originally when I have pictures clearly showing it was there before they started the work. Now I have to find a roofer to check the entire roof because I am fearful I have other leaks. Never once did the supposed expert, tell us that he was not putting back the necessary pieces of our roof. This is like a dentist not finishing filling a tooth because insurance doesn't cover it. He just left telling us our roof was complete. He is obligated to leave our roof completed and with the pieces that were there before he ripped them off. How do these criminals have an A+ rating? They are liars, scammers and unethical at best. A total of 4 contractors/roofers have said this is their fault. ****** said he would charge us $250 to come look at his mistake? BBB has to do something about this. I checked here before hiring them.

    DO NOT sign a contract with this company unless you are ok with sub-standard work on your roof! This company represented me in a roof damage claim to my insurance provider. After approval of the claim, Homestate offered to put cheap IKO shingles on my roof, with no warranty on their work. When I asked for warranty, I was told that they do not offer it and I can buy it separately for additional price. For lesser cost than Homestate, I have other roofing companies who are certified (through roofing manufacturers) and gave me quotes for roof replacement with much better materials like GAF, Malarkey etc. They are backing their work with 10 years of labor warranty.Since Homestate wasn't willing to stand behind their work, I asked them to take their 10% adjusters fee and let me use a different roofing contractor for the work. They have since withheld endorsement of my insurance checks for 6+ months now. They say I should pay them first through Certified Checks and then they will endorse my insurance checks. I have offered them regular bank check but they refuse to take it. They also refuse to take their name off the claim and I fear that they will keep adding more to the insurance claim to make money, which could result in insurance company dropping my policy and me as a customer.My recommendation would be to stay away from Homestate and find yourself a proper roofing company!

    Dear ***, we at Homestate value your time for feedback, we hope to give some clarification to the misunderstanding in your review. Homestate is certified roofing company that primarily sell ***************** shingles which are both reputable companies, both of these manufacture shingles options were presented to you. All of our roof replacements come with a one year standard labor warranty as stated per our project contract with an option to extend for an additional fee. We understand that you want to use another company to replace your roof, hence all we want is to get paid for the Public Adjuster fee for getting your full roof approved by your insurance for hail damaged. Homestate has not endorsed the insurance check because we are still waiting to get paid per your signed Public Adjuster agreement. While Homestate Public Adjuster is no longer working & not active on your claim, Homestate will still not be able to issue a release letter to your insurance until the PA fee due is paid in full. Initially we didnt know you have issue with our standard mode of payment, so ******* has called and texted you a few times so that we can collect a personal check for your public adjuster fee but has gotten no response. We also offered to meet you at the bank to ensure you can deposit the insurance checks to your account without issue before we collect your Public Adjusters fee. Let us know where you want to meet so we can settle payment. Please call us as soon as possible so we can close out your claim without further delays. Thank you.
