$24,650 was paid to ***************** through installments from 1/26-3/24 for home renovation work that was done from January-April 2025.Initial quote was signed on 1/11 but some mutually agreed modifications were made and the final signed quote was dated April 4 in the amount of $25,450.The $25,450 is reduced by $1,800 for various cancellations and credits for workmanship issues, which equals $23,650 meaning U.S. Home Services has been overpaid by $1,000.All of the figures for these calculations come from the signed quote and other written communication with the company such as text messages. So there is no dispute there. A screenshot of an excel spreadsheet is attached to this complaint that breaks everything down.Note that in our final installment payment on 3/24, we were paid up at 100% for the entire job, less credits and cancellations as noted. US Home Services requested yet another 10% payment on April **************************** their quote where the payment schedule added up to 110% (screenshot attached). On 4/21, US Home Services was notified of $1,000 refund due to client for overpayment. A copy of the spreadsheet was emailed the same day so they could confirm the figures. US Home Services stated in a text message they would deliver the refund check on 5/8. This never happened.NATURE OF DISPUTE: US Home Services wishes to refund $700 rather than the $1,000 that is due claiming the extra $300 was for top-of-door casings that were installed. But this additional amount was never mentioned until after they were made aware of the $1,000 overpayment. It was never formally approved as an add-on ****** contributing factor to all this was numerous miscommunications and lack of planning by US Home Services with the project designer. US Home Services wants me to be responsible for their own mistakes and poor execution, but seems to keep forgetting I'm their actual client.RESOLUTION SOUGHT: US Home Services refunds the $1,000 that is clearly owed.
