      While the contractors were building the garage they said they need to plug into our outdoor air conditioner compressor. During this construction time my family and I left for a 2 week vacation. Upon our return we found the electrical box wide open and the compressor not working. We contacted our HVAC and he came out and accessed the unit. He determined that the compressor was damaged due to voltage spikes. He had to replace the compressor and other parts. We contacted Better Built Garage and they told us that they werent responsible because they do this all the time and never had a problem. We are seeking the amount paid to get the unit repaired. We will settle for half. We just paid them over $45,000 and were accused of trying to scam them.

      I had spoken to Mr. ***** on Friday, He stated that when *** ********** left the unit was running.  He said the next day they shut off the ** when they left for vacation and when they came back it wouldnt turn on.  They called there repairman, he came out and said the compresor needed to be replaced and that it was most likley caused by a power surge, (storm).  He said 2 weeks later he came back to replace and the customer just called us Friday.  It was 10 years old according to the customer and was working fine when we left.

      I am rejecting this response because: thats not what my husband told them. They were still working on the garage when we left for vacation. Also if you check weather records, there was no storms while we were gone. If their workers hadnt plugged in to compressor we wouldnt have this problem. The unit was only 4 years old. We have the records thru our HVAC guy. Like I said if they would take responsibility for half the amount we paid we would be satisfied. They are taking no accountability that it could have been their workers.

      As previously stated we spoke to Mr ***** not Mrs ***** my manager *** and I were on a joint speaker call at which time Mr ***** said they left for vacation the morning after we left and at that time turned off the air conditioner , if we would have caused any damage to it, it would not have continued to run after we left the job site.

      I am rejecting this response because: Yes you spoke with Mr ***** but I was sitting right next to him. Again what you are stating isnt what was said. Yes we turned the thermostat off when we left. However the unit wasnt on before we left because your crew was plugged into it. As stated before when we returned and finally turned the air on due to the heat it was not working. Your crew also left the electrical box wide open. You didnt deny that your crew plugged into the unit so it would make sense to accept half the responsibility of the problem.

      batter Built Garage finish my garage last year on november and this day my apron concrete outside de garage is peeling and the have holes and is only about 3 months and is damege now

      We explained to the customer that concrete is not guaranteed which is in the contract, however, they sent a picture which showed salt damage.  We sent a letter also after garage was built letting the customer know they should seal the concrete.
