• Advertising Review:

  BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising. These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges. BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.

  On 6/07/2022, BBB contacted the business regarding a promotion that they were advertising on their website that stated:

  “What are oat ß-glucans?
  ß-glucans are the soluble fiber portion of oats that helps support cholesterol levels naturally as part of a heart-healthy diet.”
  “Nutrim ß-Glucans capture bile, which is produced by the liver to support removing excess cholesterol”
  “and Nutrim ß-Glucans capture cholesterol found in your diet"

  “USDA ARS Hall of Fame Scientist, Dr. George Inglett, spent years researching ways to unleash the most researched heart healthy part of oats.”

  he BBB requested substantiation of their advertisement and/or substantiation to meet Section 34 of the BBB Code of Advertising which states (in part):

  23. Abbreviations
  23.1 Commonly known abbreviations may be used in advertising. However, abbreviations not generally known or understood by the average consumer must be avoided. 

  34. Claimed Results
  Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. 

  As of 6/22/2022, after working with the, the BBB finds that the business is meeting Section 23 and 34 of the BBB Code of Advertising.
