1 starRefusal to allow me to transfer funds, I have bills due and I'm on ***. I have to wait up to 10 business days for new **** card. I don't have 10 days! I had to report my card as fraud because of purchases I didn't make. They keep sending me the same **** card with a different cvv. I will be switching my direct deposit to chime once I can hopefully transfer my money. The fact I have to wait between 3 to 5 business days on a wire transfer is pathetic. Must be so nice to s**** others over. But as long you all are happy that's all that matters. If I could give a negative rating I would in a heart beat. This bank company needs to be investigated I'm not even joking. I'm tired of these constant money struggle battles with this company. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE CLOWNS AT ALLI H Mississippi Valley Credit Union

IHMVCU is sorry to hear about fraud on your account. It is understandable that this is stressful and frustrating, especially when waiting for a new card to arrive. We take fraud claims seriously and were doing everything we can to help protect your account and to get you back up and running as soon as possible. New card numbers are always issued. Card replacement can take time due to processing and shipping. But we are working with a new card printing vendor to provide better and quicker member service in the near future.
Regarding setting up a transfer, we understand it is important to have your funds where you need them, when you need them. On July 30th, 2025, we provided you with the routing and account numbers you need to link your ******************** account to another financial institution you are trying to set up. The 3-5 day wait on money transfers from one financial institution to another is common and the wait time is not based on how long it takes for IHMVCU to make the funds available. Transferring funds electronically requires numerous steps between us sending the funds and your other institution receiving the funds.
In the interim, we have money orders or can issue online bill pay checks to assist with getting your bills paid. Or if its more convenient,we can assist you over the phone if you are still encountering issues. Your time and peace of mind matter to us, and well do what we can to make the process easier for you.Review fromCHRISTINE M

1 starIf I could give them zero stars, I would! The absolute worst "Credit union" ever! They took duplicate payments from my bank account, which overdrew my account, and refused to return my money in a timely manner! ******** customer service, as well! This company is full of half trained morons. No one I spoke to has a clue what their job is, or how to speak with people they screwed over.I H Mississippi Valley Credit Union

IHMVCU regrets to hear about the experience of setting up a new loan payment. We apologize for any confusion regarding the timing of when the first automated payment would occur. It can be frustrating to deal with correcting a duplicate payment. ** received the refund request and are actively working to resolve the matter. The processing time can take a few days. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the delay. We take all feedback seriously and are committed to providing our valued members the best possible service.Review fromEstefani A

1 starI have been a member with IHMVCU for a long time. I've had two car loans with them and TWO credit cards. The vehicle that I am currently financing has issues that make the car dangerous to drive. I called multiple times to connect with someone to help find a solution. At first I asked if I could temporarily waive full coverage because the car is in storage. At first I was told "that's not a thing". It is and other credit unions offer the choice. Then they told me it was something only for military personal. I then asked if they would be willing to work out an arrangement such as a loan/term extension and they told me I had to default my payment ****************************************** During this time I was being bounced back and forth between 3 different departments. Once I reached another person they told me that "there isn't a 45 day thing" I told her she should let the departments know not to give out misinformation to which she said she wouldn't do because I couldn't name the person who told me. Again I was bounced around to multuple people. The last person I spoke to said she called my number and it didn't work..but she left a voicemail. Their unprofessional, lack of financial literacy will only continue to worsen. Especially when there is no internal communication between departments. I am utterly disgusting and disappointed in the "service" that was provided by them. I would NOT recommend this credit union. There are many other places that will work with you on resolving financial issues. IH is NOT the place to go.I H Mississippi Valley Credit Union

1 starI am extremely frustrated with my experience at IHMVCU. I have had my card blocked multiple times for what they deem “suspicious activity” while making purchases, which has been incredibly inconvenient. To make matters worse, there is no after-hours customer service available to help lift these blocks, leaving me stranded when I need access to my funds the most.
This lack of customer support is unacceptable and has made me feel like a valued customer is not a priority for this bank. I have reached my breaking point and will be closing my accounts soon. I cannot recommend IHMVCU based on my experience – it has been the most unprofessional banking experience I have ever encountered.I H Mississippi Valley Credit Union

Card blocks are done to protect the member from potential fraud and are triggered by a variety of factors. If you are receiving a Block, it can indicate that the merchant has been flagged as a possible risk or is outside your normal activity. If a block is triggered, we understand it can be inconvenient when you are intending to make a purchase. On the back of your debit or credit card is a 24-hour number when these blocks occur to receive prompt service and have these blocks lifted even when the Credit Union is not open. We hope this helps in the future.Review fromMarg V

1 starI have a car loan through this company. I will not have a car loan with them soon; I am refinancing it. My experience with IHMVCU has been a total debacle since my loan's inception in 2021. And now, digging through records for the refi, I find this company charged me TWICE--over $8,000--for insurance when the vehicle has had full coverage without a break in coverage since the day I bought the vehicle. They claim they sent me letters, but neither I nor my insurance company received any letters asking for proof of insurance (and my mail goes to a secure mailroom.) I wonder how many other customers they simply tack this fee on without the customers noticing, and the customers just keep paying on their loans? Sounds like a great way to skim money to me. If I could, I would give IHMVCU zero stars. How do they possibly have an A+ rating with BBB? Read these reviews.Review fromBrandon T

1 starCredit union has gone down hill. **************** is almost nonexistent anymore. Back of their debit cards say for 24 hour service call except its not 24 hour service and it just says leave a message. When I brought this up when they deactivated my card because I accidentally punched in wrong PIN number once, they just kind of laughed it off like yeah we dont have 24 hour service anymore. Maybe stop worrying about all these fancy new buildings with gyms in them and maybe go back to focusing on your customers. I could write all day how bad this place has gotten as other have mentioned, not returning nsf fees when its not your fault. I went to online banks and none of them charge you 26 dollars every time a company without permission tries to charge your account. When you do try and get help they say they will send you a text confirmation number that never comes. Than admit weeks later the system was broke and they wasted a ton of your time. Pay your loan on the phone you get charged extra. They nickel and dime you with horrible customer service anymore. It would be negative sars if possible.Review fromTyler Z

1 starTerrible Bank I had a bonus check that the company my company tried to deposit twice and they denied it. One of the tellers basically called me and our account secretary, a liar. They still deny that it was anything wrong on their end and I have proof that it was their end, the company had to end up sending me a paper check which put me out another 3 to 4 days and then I finally received it and try to mobile deposit it through my phone due to I am six hours away now from my local IH Bank and they would not up my limit another thousand dollars so I could put this check in and theyve done it before. I had to send a check back home and put me another three days out and wait for my parents to put it in my account This is NOT the only issue that Ive had with this bank before. Lets not forget the payout that they had to do a while back because of their thieving *****. The tellers, there are some good ones but theres some smart a** ones too that I really dont think should be working. I have told everybody that I know who banks here to pull their money out and say goodbye to this bank. They are a bunch of crooked thieves. Going on three weeks now from the initial put in for me to get my bonus and here I am three weeks later and still dont have my money. Thank you IH, Mississippi Valley credit union. They are sketchy as h*** about NSF fees, overdraft fees, money, disappearing Ive had issues too like I seen with others on here. My uncle is a lawyer in the Quad cities and hes had complaints to him. I think this is finally the icing on the cake.Review fromRobert D

1 starI looked at online bank account on May 16th and it said that I had 511.00 and they gave a NSF fee on the 17th. Now you can't tell me you can take 75.00 out of 511.00. They did the same thing today when I looked at the paper from their atm. I did a online debit on Friday which 9:30 am today said it was pending. So I deposited money in the account at 11am to prevent a NSF fee which came out when the debit tried to go through at 10:30am. Total crap. I thought they were supposed to send you a form in the mail to let you know you got charged that fee. My husband bank does it.
