I hired *** at ECO Energy to complete an electrical install for a hot tub which was purchase. I went through ECO as he stated he was licensed with the village of ********* and I would be able to obtain a permit for the work to be completed.I obtained the permit with the village and ECO (***) performed the work on October 20,2021. Upon paying *** $1,662 in full, *** stated that if anything was not up to code he would come back out to fix it.The next day, October 21, 2021, the village inspector, Ray, came out and failed the install that ECO had completed. The breaker *** used was not compatible with the electrical box. I reached out to *** immediately and he stated he knew that the breaker was not the exact one needed and advised the inspector is an idiot and it should have passed. He stated he either way he would fix the issue and bring it up to code. I then followed up with *** monthly (I followed up with him, not once did he proactively call me to advise of status). When I would follow up it was one/two word answersNO UPDATE. After waiting three months, I realized *** no longer had any desire to complete the product since he was paid in full. I called the village for assistance and they directed to me to a list of reputable contractors which they work with. I thankfully found a contractor which was able to complete the job with the correct breaker to pass installation. NOTE: the breaker ECO was waiting on is no longer being made, and the new electrician advised ECO should have known this and came up with a different solution. I had to pay the new electrician $1030 to do Joes work all over again, but it finally passed inspection on January 18, 2021.I then reached out to ECO to ask for a portion of the dollars paid to be refunded as the job had not been completed. He stated he would take the breaker back and credit me. What about the labor I had to pay another company to finish his job which he had no interest in completing.
