In July 2021 I hired On Guard Fence ** after a big build up by ***************** to install a $5,000 aluminum fence. He lied about the fencing product we eventually got. His installers made many mistakes and even needlessly destroyed hundreds of dollars of perennials, ornamental grasses and stomped their way through shrubs not in the way of the fence...just callous ignorant disrespect. As for the shoddy installation here's what was done wrong on a run of 140 ft with 3 gates in total. 3 sections visibly tilted. 17 of 20 line posts where each fence panel is to be anchored with 3 screws on each side for a total of 6 screws for proper support had only 4 or as few as 2. Of the 6 stronger GATE POSTS contracted for NONE WERE USED. All 3 gates do not close right because the installers measured the spacing between the posts wrong. Post caps won't go on because the installers damaged the posts. On even ground the fence panels undulate up and down. It looks stupid.. PROPER installation requires that the 3 extensions on each side of the fence panels get inserted snugly into the pre -punched holes in the posts. SNUGLY...NO GAPS all but 4 sections are DONE WRONG. Several fence panels had to be cut to be less wide. Those sections barely stay in because they were measured so badly. None of the post holes were even half filled with concrete. The installers only used about 4-6 inches of concrete just to keep the posts upright as they attached the panels. They then added water to set that little bit of concrete but filled the rest of the hole with dirt. I caught them doing this and called ***************** who said that's the proper technique. BULL ****..TOTAL BULL SHIT! There are 5 holes they didn't remember to back fill as all. They left all kinds of concrete or mud chunks and other unsightly stains which are not all coming off...the painted finish is damaged and makes the new $5000 fence look decrepit. When the installers were leaving I caught them with 2 extra sections I paid for in their truck. They said it was a mistake but had to go and would return the 2 fence panels the next day. THEY WERE NEVER RETURNED. Within a few days I became aware of the extent of the damaged landscaping and the defects in the installation. Missing anchor screws, tilted panels. Gates not closing right and such. I contacted ***************** who made promises BUT DIDN'T CORRECT ANYTHING..NOT EVEN RETURN THE 2 FENCE PANELS THAT I HAD PAID FOR. I have many pictures.
