    June 21, 2024. Tree Removal. Pd $3000 DECEPTIVE ADVERSTISING Although the web photos show an Anglo family working, and calls themselves "a true family business", the actual crew spoke Spanish.The advertised address (in *******, **) has NO mail receptacle. PREDATORY SALES PRACTICES/DECEPTIVE PRICING I am a 72-year-old widow. ****** ******* made many false claims to me when procuring my agreement for his service. First, arranging with my neighbor to meet me on June 13, 2024, noon, to discuss a tree. Instead, he came at 7:30a.m., and left a note in my mailbox, with amount $3000. That afternoon upon finding the note, I phoned him to discuss. He told me the fee represents $600 PER HOUR involving 6 men, and a Boom Truck (**), taking 5 hours. Based on his statement, I believed it to be an hourly fee, including paying for **. I protested it shouldn't take near that long, because what looks like 1 tree from the road is 2 trees, so that the tree amounts to half a tree. (photo,*****,in front of tree). His response: He was in the yard and at the door, and he saw it was 2 trees. Had he been where he said my 3 dogs would have barked, waking me. He admitted he hadn't seen the east gate, which he would have seen had he been where he claimed. ****** claimed to be an excellent, experienced, qualified estimator. He assured me that the crew would cut into small pieces and neatly stack any wood I wanted to keep. They did not. I have a pile of logs and have to pay to have them cut. (photo, Log pile) The ** would not fit within the fenced area, which as the expert, he should have known prior. The ** was brought, not used, and the cost was not reduced, I paid for use of unused **. The work was complete in 2hrs, 40mins, even without the **, which would have made it complete sooner; half the "estimated time". Just as I had protested. I paid the $3000 under protest on June 21, 2024.I emailed ****** detailing the dispute and seeking resolution, to no response.
