Hello BBB,I brought in my car for an oil change and repair on 1/24/25. On 2/4/25, the car service was completed and the service advisor, *****, said they are charging me 2 hours for diagnostic testing for $159.97/hr. In the receipt, there was a *********************************************************************************************************************** prior to them performing the services. We only agreed to the oil change and replacement of purge valve and solenoid service price charges. ***** forced the diagnostic testing charges on me and would not give me my car unless I pay for the diagnostic charges. ***** simply took advantage of my car situation and charge me for services that we did not agreed upon. I told him that I would report this to BBB but ***** did not care. In my experience, most places like ********* gives free diagnose testing. Therefore, I am filing for the full refund of $319.94 for the diagnose testing. I am asking BBB to please get involved and investigate in this business.Pit Shop Auto Repair phone number is ************ Thank you,******* ***

The original problem for the vehicle was due to lack of oil changes on the vehicle. If you look at the carfax report provided, the oil change was done at ******* miles before it came to my auto repair shop.  We completed the oil change with our repairs at ******* miles.   The timing chain had failed due to lack of lubrication causing the timing chain guides (that are plastic) to break and spead plastic shards through the engine.  When we removed the timing chain we saw the plastic and removed the engine oil pan to try and clean out the system best as possible.  The customer was warned the system may have more debris in the system that we cannot get and the check engine light may return.  The light returned shortly after we did the repair and the vehcle came back to the shop.  We found the light had come back on due to a sticking valve that was clogged with plastic debris.  We advised the customer that because the light had come back and we found more debris we would need to dissassemble the engine to clean every nook and cranny, or replace the engine to insure the problem would not come back.  The custoemer did not want to do the work because they stated they would be selling the vehilce and it would just sit in the driveway.  Because the customer did not want to proceed and clean all remaining debris out of the engine (as we notated on the repair order - see highlights), we stated there was no warranty on the repair (this was also stated on the repair order - see highlights).  The customer was made aware the warranty was void because the remaining plastic debris in the system was not cleaned out.  The shop does have a 3 year ****** mile warranty - UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED (see highlighted section in disclaimer on the bottom of the repair order).  The customer signed this document when the vehicle was picked of ( see highlighted signature on the document).  The customer returned after almost ****** miles stateing that we need to refund his money or fix the vehicle.  We have already shown there was no warranty on the repair due to the customer refusing to have us clean the remaining plastic debris out of his engine.  If you look at the carfax history report the customer also has not had an oil change completed on the vehicle for ****** miles since my shop completed the last oil change.  The lack of oil change was the initial reason the vehicle came to the shop in the first place.  When we do an oil change on a vehicle we put an oil change sticker for 6 months of ***** miles from date of servcie.  The manufacture requires an oil change a minimum of ever 1 year of ****** miles.  This vehicle went ****** miles and over 2 years between oil changes - this is what caused the problem when it first came to our shop and this combined with the customer not cleaning out the plastic debris caused the failure this complaint is in refrence to.  We take great care of all our customers, however we are not responsible to warranty items when the customer refuses to complete the required *********************** needed to make the repair last, and when the customer does not complete requried maintenance that directly damages the repairs that have been completed
