Senior ************************** leads senior citizens to believe the site they are at is unbiased and unaffiliated in their articles and reviews and making seniors believe that there are no other options in that area that fit their need. 'Senior Lifestyle" is the company that owns the Assisted and Independent facilities that they recommend. Claiming they did research toward the "the best senior living facilities" and then goes ahead to only recommend their business. It is sad that people in the business of helping our seniors are the ones that are steering them into their misleading ads to get their business, Seniors that navigate this site will not know that there are cheaper or other options out there in general.

My mother has been in a facility owned by Senior Lifestyle since 4/1/2023. On 12/29/2023 at approximately 3pm, my brother and I were informed that my mother's bills "hadn't been paid for the past 6 or 7 months." Because of the timing of the call (Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend) I found this call suspect. And because of the nature of the call, I wanted to look into it further. After some back and forth and examining my mother's bank statements and requesting invoices from the facility, I informed them that their statement was not accurate. I asked for more accurate statements, as the ones they provided did not reflect true and correct payments as evidenced by the bank records. Before any were provided, on February 6, 2024, Senior Lifestyle - with no prior warning - attempted to withdrawal over $75,000 via EFT from my mother's checking account. We were not told of this ahead of time, we were never given written notice of any actual amount that was due, nothing. In fact, as proven by the bank statements, this amount is grossly incorrect. Because we were not told of this large EFT in advance, it ******** my mother's account. Unacceptable

This corporation owns - but is in the process of selling - an Assisted Living Facility, ***************, in *************, **. My elderly, veteran father is a resident there. They have been charging him for services not provided and I've been trying to get it resolved since August 2022. There has been no attempt to reimburse him the money owed, close to 3k now, and my calls and emails have gone unanswered. The corporation has frozen the ALF's leaders ability to right any of the monetary issues, as they are selling the property - but they continue to take the resident's money. I have been told my father is not the only senior citizen currently being taken advantage of. ****************** at the facility is apologetic and frustrated, but they can do absolutely nothing. All inquiries are to be directed to the corporate office in *******, yet no one answers the phone and the voicemail boxes are all full so you cannot leave them a message. I'm afraid that this corporation will sell the property and leave all of the elderly residents high and dry - and out who knows how much money. I had asked for ledgers, health assessment (which determines the cost of care received) and information, none of which they provided to me.
