Sears is awful. We had a chopper on a dishwasher get destroyed by glass shards. (Our fault). So we set up a Sears technician to come look at it. Well they came after failing to come to the first time. They diagnosed the problem, and had us pay over $700 to get it fixed, for the part and the labor. Well they constantly re-scheduled and never had the part. It never got shipped to us either. They told me it was in a warehouse on Tuesday but then proceeded to re-schedule today saying the part wasn’t in yet. I have made several phone calls and gotten the run around, we’ll promise fix it, etc. But today I canceled. They have no option that I can see to get a refund. I tried calling numbers and got nowhere. I cant even speak to a real person on the phone. We lost over $700 and are thinking of taking this up with a lawyer. This is unethical business practice at its worst!

I wish I could give a negative star. This company is atrocious. I submitted an order for a part that they had indicated was in stock. I waited for shipment updates, but they never came, and then finally received an update that it was out of stock. I contacted the online cat representative who canceled my original order and generated a replacement order for a similar part. This time, I did receive a shipping notification; however, that was it. It was a notification only and did not include the actual tracking number. I contacted a representative who stated that they did not have and could not provide me with the tracking number. She said she would need 3 days to get back to me. 3 days? For a tracking number? I then contacted them again three days later, and they were still unable to verify. The representative said they would need 3 more days, and I would receive an update. 3 days went by, and they still were not able to produce a tracking number for me. Now I sit here on my 4th go-round in asking for a tracking number, which they have failed to verify. I finally just got fed up and their lies and manipulation and canceled the order and asked for a refund. I am still waiting for that to happen. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING EVER FROM THIS COMPANY. All you will get are brush-offs and manipulation to lead you along.

Have been waiting since March to get repair done. Keep canceling appointments. Next appointment is 5/28/2025. I have a warranty and so there is no fee other than the initial $100.

Sears Home Services deserves a zero rating today. Have used A&E for years with great results. But, not today. They are either running a scam OR are so poorly organized and managed that they are incapable of delivering service.
Our stacked oven heating element burned out, called A&E, Sears answered. Placed service appt. Guy comes out to diagnose problems. Gives us cost for install and parts order. WE PAID IN FULL. Part arrives, and our appts for with service tech were cancelled by Sears H S at least 4 times w/o explanation. We asked for a refund for the full amount we paid minus the part that was delivered.
After at least 4 calls to customer service, excuse me, THEY DON’T HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They have an appointment line and parts line mostly constructed around an endless loop that trunks into a voice mail box. It’s almost impossible to get a human on the phone unless you want to make a NEW appointment. And if you do get a human on the phone they’ll tap dance about what they’re going to do to resolve your problem.
After the 4 calls to customer service for a refund, being told each time the refund was on the way. NOTHING. We paid them $600+, and agreed to a ~$350 refund. Have not received it AFTER 5 MONTHS.
AVOID Sears Home Services like the Black Plague. You will very likely get burned. Find an alternative service company like we did in Richmond. It took some research, but we accomplished it and received great service in the end.
Be aware! I would give a zero star, but it is not available as a choice :-/

I purchased 3 parts for my refrigerator on February 26, 2025. All items showed online to be "in stock" when I placed the order. After placing the order 1 part was sent, but the other 2 were not sent. I contacted customer service many times, and they kept saying they were going to get back with me on the status, but no one would ever get back with me. Eventually one of the times that I contacted them, they told me the part was on back order and they would let me know when the parts shipped. Then on April 18, 2025 they canceled my order with my permission. I called to find out why they canceled the order. They told me that it was done in error, but they can set up a reorder of the items. Then they told me the cost for the new order of the 2 remaining parts was over $700. The price had doubled from what I had originally paid. They canceled my order in order to try to force me to pay a higher price for the items that I had ordered and already paid for.
I want to purchase the parts at the original price that I paid. It is completely unethical to advertise a price, allow people to order and then cancel the order so that the price can be increased to double the original price. When I discussed this with customer service they ensured me a supervisor would contact me to discuss fixing the problem. No one has ever gotten back with me.
